I Love You

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner I thought I'd use that for my inspiration for this card:

For my card I used the Sitting Wonderful stamp set.  I colored Anya with copics and, since I am on a paper piecing kick lately, I paper pieced her bow with a hearts pattern and the chair with a heart damask pattern  I'd actually love a chair just like that.....although I think my oldest daughter would probably fight me for it ;)  I added two border punched panesl with some ribbon and then two pearls to the sentiment.  Oops....I just noticed that I forgot to put some black pearls on her bracelet like I had intended.

Have you had a chance to play along in one of the current challenges at The Greeting Farm.....if not, there is still time to join us!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge - Holiday's (Valentine's Day)

DTT at The Greeting Farm

Today is time for another Double Take Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm. This week Rachel challenged us to use the colors Purple and Green.

For my card today I used CC Friday Night and colored her with copics.  I added some glitter to her as well as the flowers.  I pulled out some brads for the center of the flowers (I can't even remember the last time I used brads....) and added some pearls to finish it off.

I have a TON of patterned papers, but in searching through them I realized that I really don't have much along the lines of purple, let alone purple and green.  Definitely made this week a bit more challenging for me...but hey, that's part of the fun right!?!

We'd love to see you join us this week.  Just head on over to the blog to link up your entry.

I followed the sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.

FFF with The Greeting Farm

Happy Friday!  It's time for another Farm Fresh Friday over at The Greeting Farm.  This week Joni challenged us to use script/text on our projects.

For my project I used Wild Sprout Gracie.  I think every time I use this image I fall more in love with her....she is just so fun to color and paper piece!  I originally started with a completely different outfit, but decided to switch gears and am glad I did because I love how these look with the background papers (and who knows, I just may use the other one later on....well, if I can find all the pieces I had cut out on my now very messy craft desk).  I added a heart shaped doily behind Gracie and some thick ric-rac trim.  The sentiment at the top was cut from the patterned paper and then I added some self adhesive pearls to the top and bottom to make it stand out a bit more.  A few flowers and it was done.

Head on over to the TGF blog to see the rest of the Design Team's fabulous projects and be sure to join us with this weeks challenge!

DTT with The Greeting Farm

Today is time for another Double Take Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm. This week Suzanne challenged us with a sketch.  I don't know about you, but I think sketch challenges are one of my favorites.

I used Anya from the set Sitting Wonderful, colored her with copics and added a few rhinestones for her bracelet.  Since right about now I am wishing it were summer time, or at least spring, I chose some bright papers from Echo Park and used one of my pinking circles nesties to make a sun for Anya to sit on.  It's been a long time since I used the sewing maching so I pulled it out and stitched all the panels.  Definitely a bright a cheerful card.

Here is the sketch that we used this week:

We'd love to see you join us this week.  Just head on over to the blog to link up your entry.

On a side note, we sure could use some more sun around here....it was freezing cold last (when typing this up it was -4° with a wind chill of -26°) and just getting colder.  This is what the morning looks like for us.....Brrrr!  Definitely not sending my kids out for the bus until it is pretty much right in front of our house!

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful day!

FFF with The Greeting Farm

Happy Friday....another week is coming to an end and that brings us another Farm Fresh Friday over at The Greeting Farm.  This week Rosemary challenged us to use dies and/or punches.

For my card I used Awareness Anya and colored her ribbon pink in honor of my Aunt who is a Breast Cancer survivor.  I colored her entirely with copics...no paper piecing this time, but I did cut her out.  The scalloped rectangle die cut is embossed and I added some rhinestones to the center of the butterfly.

Head on over to the TGF blog to see the rest of the Design Team's fabulous projects and be sure to join us with this weeks challenge!

Double Take Tuesday with TGF

Today is Double Take Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm. This week Jo presented us with a color challenge and here is my card:

Since I usually end up giving the "Beans" bright colored hair, I decided to use Lovey Bean.  I colored her with copics and added some glitter in a few places to match the glittered background paper.

And in case you couldn't guess....here are the colors we were challenged to use:

Using these bright colors makes me think of spring (which can't come soon enough). Yesterday morning, it was -5 with the Wind Chill and our driveway is solid ice ~ not so good when it is quite steep and the kids have to walk up and down it to get to the bus (they got smart though and when they got to the snow covered grass area, went down that instead). Hoping for some more sunny weather today so we can get that ice melted!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - Dies and Punches
Stamp and Create - Love theme
The Deconstructed Sketch - sketch 84

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

FFF with The Greeting Farm

I can't believe it's already Friday, but that means it is time for another Farm Fresh Friday over at The Greeting Farm and this week Annie Rose challenged us to make something to say "thank you" in honor of "International Thank You Day", which happens to be today.

I colored Wild Sprout Gracie with Copics and paper pieced her entire outfit.  I added some glitter to the flower on her hat, two little bows (tied out of Baker's twine) to her braids and then used Suzanne's fantastic idea to make her boots into shoes and socks.  I love the bright colors of this card!  The sentiment is from an old TGF set.

Head on over to the TGF blog to see the rest of the Design Team's fabulous projects and be sure to join us with this weeks challenge!

A Little Tip to Try

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's Jodi here and I have a little tip I'd like to share with you today.  Here is my finished card using CC Friday Night, but it didn't start out that way......

Did you ever have a paper that you liked, but found that just didn't work out with your image/layout?  For this card I had colored the image to match a certain paper but when I laid it all out I decided that the paper was just too busy and I didn't like it.  Instead of tossing it and starting all over, I pulled out my black copic marker, colored in parts of it and voila.....a completely different look!

From this:

 To this:

And then I had to change the polka dotted paper since it had light greet dots and didn't match at all.  I just colored over them with the black copic again.
From this:

To this:

Granted it won't work for all papers, but for those it does, it is a an easy way to make a drastic change!

Now I would also like to show you how I shade the eyes.  Don't mind the uneven circles I colored....they really aren't noticeable in real life, well, unless you magnified it ;)  It is really easy, and adds a big impact.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Anyone for Anya - Winter Blues
Deconstructing Jen - sketch (In place of the half circles on the upper left, I noticed that there were 2 flowers in that section on my patterned paper so I decided to add pearls to the center of those).
Runway Inspired Challenge - Based of the below Cacharel Spring 2013 dress (I chose to use the colors....black, white and the turquoise color)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Double Take Tuesday with The Greeting Farm

Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday.

Today is Double Take Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm.  This week's challenge is a fabulous sketch by Jess and here is my card using the adorable Wild Sprout Gracie.
Gracie was colored with copics as was my button (and I love the marbled effect it gave this particular button) and the letter stickers.  When I went to put my card together, I really didn't like the stark white background she was on, so I decided to play around with it and try to color it a Kraft color so I chose E43, E42, E41 and E40.  To be honest, when I first started with the E43 I was afraid I had ruined it, but I kept going and love the end result.  I can't wait to try this with different colors.

We'd love to have you join us this week.  Head on over to the TGF log to check out the rest of the Team's beautiful creations and link yours up....we'd love to see it!

Thanks for stopping and have a great day!

FFF with the Greeting Farm

Happy New Year!

Now I can let you all in on a little secret I've been keeping....I am now a Showcase Designer for The Greeting Farm....I am so excited to be working with Jess, Marie and the rest of the team and am really looking forward to the next 6 months!

Anyways, each Friday TGF has a Farm Fresh Friday (FFF) and this week Peggy challenged us to use something new.

This week I chose the set Sitting Wonderful.   Anya is just adorable and I love that chair.   I colored Anya with copics and paper pieced her outfit, boots and bow along with the chair.  To make a background I used two different designer papers to create a wall and floor.  Since the circle I used is fairly large, I kept the rest of the layout on the simpler side just adding a strip of paper with a bordered edge and some fun pom-pom trim which is my other new item).

Head on over to the TGF blog to see the rest of the Design Team's fabulous projects and be sure to join us with this weeks challenge...we'd love to see what new goodies you got for Christmas!

Thanks for stopping and have a great day!
