FFF with TGF

Happy Friday!  It's time for another Farm Fresh Friday over at The Greeting Farm.  Today I got to host this weeks challenge and I chose "Easy as 1,2,3".  Use 1 focal image/sentiment stamp, 2 embellishments and 3 patterned papers.  See, it really is easy!

For my card I used a sentiment from the Anya Strolls set and stamped it on a journaling card that is from the Simple Stories Summer Fresh Collection.  My three different patterned papers are from the same collection.  My two embellishments are pearls (colored to match with a copic) and ribbon.  I also added a border with the Tulip Border Die and a little butterfly to the sentiment.

Now should I admit that my original card for this challenge didn't make it to the picture stage?  Instead of taking a picture of it right away I put it aside figuring I'd do it later.  In the meantime, I decided to clean up my craft room.  Well after doing that, my card, along with my BG00 copic marker, was nowhere to be found.  I have looked for the last two days and still can't find either....thinking they may have fallen into the garbage can by my desk, which of course was emptied on Wednesday :(

Head on over to the TGF blog to see the rest of the Design Team's fabulous projects and be sure to join us this week ~ I'd love to see what you do with this challenge!

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful day!

Garden Variety Tuesday with TGF

It's Garden Variety Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm ~ basically it's the same challenge as Double Take Tuesday, it just a new catchy name ;) . This week Thanh challenged us with a sketch and this is what I came up with:

I used the Limited Edition Queen Bean from last month's release (there are still some of the Limited Edition Beans remaining, so if you still haven't ordered these, go over and grab them before they are gone).  I colored her with copics and cut her out.  I used 4 different patterned papers and added some pearls along with a sentiment from the Delicate Words Die Set.  This was a fun sketch to work with!
Stop by The Greeting Farm blog to check out the rest of the Design Teams amazing projects this week.  While you're there, we'd love to have you join us this week ~ just link up your entry on the blog.

Fresh from the Garden.....

It's the end of the month, and you know what that means.....previews for new stamps!  Today is the third and final day of previews before the release tomorrow at The Greeting Farm and I get to share Garden Anya, Anya Strolls and the Fence die with you.

For my first card I used Anya Strolls and the fence die:
When I first saw this stamp I absolutely fell in love with her ~ she is so stylish (love that jacket) and I her little dog!  I colored her with copics and cut her out.  I added some stickles to the dog collar and heart tag and gave Anya some earrings.  Instead of using the Fence die as, well...a fence, I decided to use it as a border piece instead by cutting off the bottom fence slats and threading ribbon through the openings.  I made a bow out of tulle, added a rose to the center and then added a few pearls to the bottom of the sentiment to finish it off.

My second card used Garden Anya, the Fence die :
Another adorable stamp and perfect for this time of year ~ makes me wish I had some flowers in my garden to pick!  I colored Anya with copics and cut her out.  I used the die from the Mini Cloud's with Die Stamp Set and the Delicate Words Die set to add a sentiment  I added some stickles to her ribbons, the bows on her shoes, the butterflies and around the edge of the cloud.

When I saw the new dies I was thrilled!  These fences are the perfect size for scene and with a few snips can be used for more than just fences!

The paper on both of my cards is from the Just Because collection by Little Yellow Bicycle....after I got my stamps and dies, I came across this paper pad and ordered it just  for this release.

Make sure you stop by the TGF blog to see some more gorgeous creations from a few of my fellow team members and to find out how you can win the new TGF Fence Die.

And.....be sure to come back again tomorrow for a Release Day Design Team Blog Hop!

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!  :)

DTT with The Greeting Farm

Today is time for another Double Take Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm. This week Andrea gave us a color challenge based on Earth Day and here is my card:

I used Hatter Bean and colored her with copics.  Since I couldn't find any patterned paper I was happy with in these colors, I decided to make the image the focal point and drew in some grass and colored the sky with my copics as well.   I embossed the blue paper, added a ribbon with a slider charm and some pearls.

Here is the inspiration photo for the color challenge today:

Time is running out on these Limited Edition Beans as they will only be available during the month of April, just a week left!  Be sure to get yours before they're gone for good!

Remember when I told you that my Elementary Team was headed to the State Tournament for DI?  Here was the building their challenge was in:
Here the kids are ready to go on:
Posing for a picture after their presentation:
And the results are in.....2nd place at State and going to Global Finals!!!!  They scored the highest out of all the Elementary level teams in both their actual challenge and in the press conference!  Unfortunately they didn't do as well in the Instant Challenge and that is why the ended up in 2nd place...guess what we'll be working on the next few weeks....well that and a lot of FUNDRAISING ;)
Here is part of the happy team at the end of the Awards Ceremony:

My Middle Level team did not make the top 3 in the video contest, so they are officially done for the season :(

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!  :)

Spring Time Alice

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today I have a card to share with you using Alice Bean

I colored Alice with Copics and then added her to a Spellbinders Lacey Oval that I had cut out of patterned paper.  I almost ended up coloring her in blues again, but when going through my papers I found some old My Minds Eye papers that I have been holding onto forever, {I know I'm not the only one that does this ;)} and thought they would look great with Alice so I used those instead.  I added some self adhesive pearls, a few roses and then a sentiment using October Afternoon letter stickers (although I did color the edge of them with copics to make them blend in better).

I really love using these Limited Edition Beans ~ they are too darn cute and so much fun to color!  Remember, they are only in the TGF store until the end of April, so if you have your eye on any (or all) of them, you should get them soon.

Now I will admit that I had to color 4 images before I had a usable one.  I filled up a few of my copics and evidently filled one a bit too much because I went to use it and it dropped a big glop of ink on my image....there went #1.  I thought I took care of the problem, but when coloring #2 and #3 it happened again....so much for those.  I think I finally got it fixed since I didn't have any problems with the 4th image, but gee, what a pain that was!

Well, tonight is my Elementary DI teams last practice before they head off to State.  Hopefully they will finish up everything they wanted to work on.  Saturday is the big day....if they place 1st, 2nd or 3rd, they are off to Global Finals.....I know they are really hoping to make it.

My Middle School DI team didn't make it to State, so instead of practicing, they spent the last week working on a video to enter into the DI skills contest since the winner of the contest wins a trip to Global Finals.  They are really hoping that their video gets picked as one of the top 3 and goes on to public voting.  Crossing my fingers for them because I know how much this means to them.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Retro Fresh Wednesday with The Greeting Farm

Today it's time for Retro Fresh Wednesday, a month long challenge, over at The Greeting Farm.

The theme for this month is
Polka Dots and Plaid
(and use a TGF stamp that is older than 6 months)

For my card I used Shimmer Bean who was released last March.  I colored her with copics and added some stickles as well as a rhinestone to the image.  For my embellishments I used the die from the Mini Fleurs w/die set adding a button and ribbon bow to the center and the die from the Mini Flutters w/die set adding rhinestones to the center.  When it was done, it still looked too plain so I went and added dots to all the white borders with a Stampin Up marker ~ I haven't done that for a long time, but I love it!

We'd love to have you join in the Retro Fresh Challenge....remember, you have an entire month to enter and the winner gets a 4x6 stamp set of their choice as well as a single stamp.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day :)
