Club Anime Sketch Challenge 7

Wow did February go by fast ~ hopefully we will start getting some warmer weather to enjoy!  Today brings us a Sketch Challenge over at Club Anime.  Virginia gave us this wonderful sketch to use:

For my card I chose Laney ~ isn't she just the sweetest little thing!!?!  I know a lot of girls that would just love to get a card with her on it!
When I saw this image, I knew right away that I just had to use this DP ~ I think it is perfect for her.  The paper has a lot of sparkle to it, so I kept the embellishments to a minimum.  As usual, I used copics to color the image, and then I cut it out with my nesties.  A bit of ribbon and a few rhinestones finished off the card.

Be sure to check out all the other fabulous creations the rest of the team has made with this sketch!  There are a few new girls on the team so be sure to give them some love!

We would love to have you join our sketch challenge.  This month the winner will receive a CD full of InStyle Stamps non-anime images ~ there are over 100 images on this CD (wow, I'd LOVE that prize!).  You have until April 1st (11:59 pm PST) to link your project to Mr. Linky.

Remember to shop for all your InStyle Stamps through this link to receive an automatic 5% discount on your purchase!

Virginia has a lot of exciting things planned for InStyle Stamps and I can't wait to share them with you!

Have a wonderful day!

In Style Stamps Sneak Peek

InStyle Stamps has 6 new images coming out tomorrow for Valentine's Day ~ 3 Anime images and 3 Retro images.  Today I get to share one of the Anime images with you.

This is Valentine Ava ~ isn't she adorable!?!  I decided to make a little treasure box for one of my daughters ~ although I'm not sure which one yet ~ so instead of personalizing it, I just added a monogram (good thing both of their names start with the letter "A").  I added the ribbon to the corner with the flower in the center so it looked like a bow on a package.  The edges of the base papers have been distressed (sanded down) so they blended in with the white of the box better.

Remember, when shopping at InStyle stamps, use this link {InStyle Stamps} and you will automatically receive a 5% discount on your purchase!

Club Anime Color Challenge #6

It's the second Saturday of the month and that means it's time for our color challenge over on the InStyle Stamps Club Anime blog.   This time our challenge was to use these colors:

What a perfect combination to start making those Valentine's Day cards!

I used Ling and Roran, who will be in the store soon.  I used very little in the way of embellishments on this card as I wanted the image to stand out.  I imagined the two of them sitting on the beach (somewhere I wouldn't mind being about now), so I colored the ground a sandy color.  I was finally lucky enough to find one of those elusive Heart lace border punches, so I had to put it to use right away!

Since you probably need to get some Valentine's Day cards done anyways, go ahead and join us in this month's challenge!  Not only will you get your needed cards done, but by linking your creation, you could be the lucky winner of 3 digital images and 2 digital papers of your choice!  You have until February 12th, 11:59PM PST to enter.

Check the DT's blogs on January 12th and 13th for some sneak peeks of new images coming on the 14th.  You won't want to miss these!

To purchase any of InStyle's fantastic images, be sure to go through this link InStyle Stamps and you will automatically receive a 5% discount on your purchase!

This is my second post for the day, so please scroll down to see my first post of the day.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Club Anime Color Challenge #5

This is my second post for the day, so be sure to scroll down for the first post.

It is time for a Club Anime sketch Challenge.

Here is my interpretation of it:

This image so reminds me of my daughter Ashley ~ she loves talking on the phone.  I decided to use a pink, brown and ivory color scheme for this card, a nice change from all the Christmas colors I have been using lately!  After I put the card together, I decided that it needed a little something else, so I added the rhinestones to the scallop border and then a charm (to which I also added a rhinestone in the center of the flower).

Be sure to check out all the other fabulous creations the rest of the team has made with this sketch!

Remember to shop for all your InStyle Stamps through this link as you will then receive an automatic 5% discount on your purchase!

Club Anime Color Challenge

It's the second Saturday of the month and that means it's time for our color challenge over on the InStyle Stamps Club Anime blog.   This time our challenge was to use the colors red, green and brown so I dug out my old Christmas stack of papers that I knew would be perfect for this challenge and decided to use Scarf Chick because I think she works really well with these papers (and she is just cuter than heck).

Of course, she was colored with my copics and the background was colored in with E40 to give it an ivory tone.  The pearls were colored with E42 to match the color scheme.  No stickles or glitter on this card, but I did manage to get a bit of bling with the gold colored buttons courtesy of my metallic gel pen, and then the vintage trim I found in my cabinet (love that box of trims, ribbons and lace).

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations (links are in my left side column).  And as always, please join in, we'd love to see what you come up with using this color combo.

To purchase this and any of the other fantastic images, be sure to go through this link InStyle Stamps and you will automatically receive a 5% discount on your purchase!

I also want to remind you that InStyle is looking for Guest Designers for January and February?  All you have to do is join in our sketch challenge this month and link up your creation with Mr. Linky.  You have until 11:59PM EST on December 26th to enter.  Good luck!

I will also be entering this in a few other challenges, but I will update those later on as I have some cookie making/decorating to do with my Daisies.

OK, edited to add the challenges:
Banana Split Sunday - Stay warm-well I think she looks warm all bundled up
Creative Inspirations - Sketch ~ except now I see that when I printed my copy of the sketch the right end was cut off a bit, so I missed the strip down the right side
Cupcake Inspiration Challenge - I used the holly and berries from the cupcake and the colors were red and green ~ I used a variation of those colors
Everybody Art Challenge - Red and Green
My Time to Craft - Christmas Foliage - holly

Club Anime Sketch Challenge #4 and Guest DT Call

It is time for another monthly sketch challenge over at Club Anime, and make sure you read this post to the end as there is an announcement.  This was a fun sketch to work with:

And here is my interpretation of it:

I chose this image because it reminds me of my kids in the winter.  We have a huge hill in the front of our house which turns into the kids sled hill in the winter, so I just had to put the "Let it Snow" saying on there  ~ and living in Wisconsin we will more get more than enough, although we haven't had any yet.....

Last year on December 3rd, I was a chaperone on a field trip with Alicia's class to a one room schoolhouse and it was snowing so bad they couldn't even walk to one of the buildings they were supposed to go see because of all the snow.  Tyler went on the same field trip yesterday, and he was lucky ~ no snow at all.

OK, back to my card....I colored the image with my copics and decided to make patterns on both of their sweaters with the blender pen {LOVE that marker!}.  The image was cut out and placed on the embossed and stickled (is that even a word LOL!) circle.  More stickles were then added for snow.  The little snowflakes are actually the punchouts from the snowflake border punch ~ I just added little gems to the centers and they made the perfect embellishment.  The scalloped edge is the opening of the card, something I don't do too often, but I should because than it makes me finish the inside up right away!

Would you like a discount on InStyle Stamps?  For every purchase you make at InStyle Stamps (using this link) you will receive an automatic 5% discount on your purchase!

Now I also mentioned a Guest Design Team Call....well, how would you like to be a guest designer in January and February for InStyle Stamps and work with these fantastic images?  All you have to do is join in our challenge this month and link up your creation with Mr. Linky.  You have until 11:59PM EST on December 26th to enter.  Good luck!

Love You

This week the sketch challenge over at Sweet and Sassy was one that I absolutely loved so I had to fit it in this week.  It also had a spin to it where you had to use stitching ~ and yes, I still haven't had the courage to pull out the big sewing machine, besides, it is much easier to change your marker color than to change your thread and bobbin.......

Anyways, I used this sweet Vanessa image and paired it up with the beautiful Bo Bunny Paper.  This  is the same line of papers we used on Ashley's Valentine box earlier this year ~ a favorite of mine back then and still a favorite of mine now!

I'm cutting this short because I have to get this posted to enter the Sweet and Sassy Challenge.  This card is also for the challenge at Creative Card Crew - Favorite Things (which is pretty much all of it LOL!)

ISS Blog Hop

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Not only is today Black Friday, but it is also the day for the InStyle Stamps monthly blog hop. Now, I don't know about you, but I absolutely hate going out to stores on Black Friday, too crowded for my comfort, so, I can't think of anything better than to sit back and enjoy what wonderful creations the DT has in store for you.

You should have arrived from Julie's blog, but if not, please head on over to the InStyle Stamps blog to start at the beginning.

Our theme this month was ornaments. I had a lot of different ornament ideas, but in the end decided to use my Memory Glass that I had sitting neglected for about 2 years now. To go along with the ornament, I also made an ornament shaped card.

I colored this beautiful angel, Kimi, with copics and then painted her wings with Angel Wings Shimmerz ~ now how appropriate is that. I also added it to the edge of the image panel, the edge of the sentiment panel and to the designer paper.& Then to make her sparkle more, I added stickles to the edges of her "dress".  The pearls were colored with RV11 to match and then some organdy ribbon was added to finish it off.  The ornament has a heavier silver wired ribbon for hanging.

Here is a close up of the card to capture the shimmer and sparkle:

And here is the ornament:

Your next stop is Mary and I know she will have some fabulous eye candy for you. AT the end of the hop, you should end up back at InStyle Stamps where we would like you to vote for your favorite project. The DT member that receives the most votes will win a prize AND just for voting you also have the chance to win a prize!

This card is also for the following challenges:

In Style Stamps Color Challenge

I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday!  Today we have a color challenge for you on the InStyle Stamps Club Anime blog.  Here is our inspiration picture this month:

And here is what I came up with for these colors:

For this challenge I used the Christmas Tree Chick image and matched her up with the Eskimo Kisses papers from Basic Grey.  The color seems a bit off in the picture, and unfortunately her top looks a bit on the  orange side while IRL it really is more of a coral color.  I cut out the image with my new Nesties Labels 1 (I came across a great sale last week and ordered the Labels sets 1-4 and the fancy tags set as well).  And I tried something new again and made my very first Easel Card.  I was intimidated by the thought of making one of these, but it was so easy to do!  The little extra effort it takes transforms an ordinary card into a stunning display.  I will definitely be making more of this style card for the upcoming holiday season.

I kept the inside fairly simple and instead of using an embellishment to hold the card open, I put the sentiment on dimensionals instead.

Head on over to the InStyle Stamps Club Anime blog to see the rest of the DT's amazing creations.  We would love to have you join us in November's color challenge.  You have an entire month to play, and by entering your creation, you could win a $20 gift certificate to InStyle Stamps ~ how great is that!?!

Remember, for every purchase you make at InStyle Stamps (using this link) you will receive a 5% discount on your purchase ~ couldn't be easier!

It's a Winter Wonderland with InStyle Stamps

Today over on the InStyle Stamps blog is an Over the Hump Blog Candy Give Away.  Head on over to see the wonderful creations by the DT and for your chance to win a fantastic prize.  If you want to purchase an image or two for yourself, visit InStyle Stamps with this link and you will receive a discount of 5% on your purchase!

Our theme was snow, and I decided to make a snow globe card.  The tutorial is here on SCS, but I did have to modify it as I wanted a larger card.

I colored Sandy in with my Copics, cut her out and then added stickles along with some rhinestones.  Isn't she just the cutest?!?  The "back" side of the globe is stamped with snowflakes enhanced with some stickles.  After that was done, I decided that she needed to be standing on some snow, so a piece of paper and lots of stickles later I had a wonderful snow bank for her to stand on.  Of course, I couldn't just leave it at that ~ I added a few snowflakes to the front of the card (and, yup, you guessed it, those are covered in stickles as well) and then put rhinestones in the centers of those for a little more color.  This was a really fun card to make and surprisingly it didn't take all that long.  I think it actually took longer trying to get a picture of it without the glare from the transparency sheet!

Here is the inside:
