You make me smile :)

I love this image from Hambo ~ this is one cool cat!
For the sky I sponged Cool Caribbean ink (I sure wish SU would keep the In Colors permanently ~ I love having so many color choices, and these older colors seem to match so many of the DP's out there). The rest of the card was colored with copics. I decided to attach a little drink charm to the card which I think adds to the summer feel.

This card follows sketch 92 from

Howdy....

Here is my card using the Weiman Wranglers digi stamps from Pink Cat Studios that I mentioned in this post. I love how the boy and girl cowboy look next to each other, so I made them the focus of this card.

I went through my DP and found this unopened package of Crate Paper and thought it was perfect for these cuties. For a little extra I added the star brads and then knotted some hemp twine before adhering it to the card. I wanted to make a few more cards with these images, but it was a nice weekend, so we spent a lot of time outdoors.

This card is also for the following challenges:
Cute Daisy May - As you like it
Charisma Cardz - Any theme, any style

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Weiman Wranglers - Digi Stamp ~ Pink Cat Studios
Ink/Coloring: Copics (E00, E01, E25, E27, E30, E31, E53, E55, E57, E59, Y21, Y23, YR12, YR15, B911, B93, B95, B97, R20)

MSB Challenge #8 ~ Cookies and Milk

OK, sorry for the delay in posting this ~ I had it set up in blogger to autopost at 6:00 am today, but it never posted. Hmmmm, this makes the 2nd time this week my autopost didn't post ~ is anyone else having problems with this?

Anyways, it is time for our weekly challenge over at MSB and our challenge this week was to use the following card sketch to follow provided by Val:I decided to use the Cookies and Milk image that I just recently got from MSB ~ I think this image is so cute. It would be a great image for a little cookie bag topper, for a jar of cookie mix, or even on a card as I have done.

Verve VSJUN03

On SCS I came across a 5 sketch challenge from Verve for their release week and the next few posts will show my cards.

This card follows sketch VSJUN03 but I rotated the sketch so I could fit my image in the oval. I like the simplicity of this sketch as it allows more the DP to be seen. The dots on the embossed oval behind the image were colored over with a copic (a great idea I picked up from Sem) and then went over again with stickles.

This card is also for The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which is to use the colors pink and green as well as the Whimsy Stamps Challenge which was to use two patterned papers, ribbon and three embellishments (my three flowers).

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Tara - Digi Stamp from Victoria Case
Ink/Coloring: Copics (E00, E01, E02, E53, E55, E57, YG05, YG07, Y00, RV000, RV00, RV02, RV10, RV11, RV13)
Paper: Regal Rose; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - Making Memories
Embellishments: Ribbon (Rose); Flowers (Prima); Brad; Bead Cap; Silver self adhesive dots (Michaels); Stickles

Weiman Wrangler's at Pink Cat Studio

I just purchased these wonderful digi images from Pink Cat Studios. These are being offered to honor the life of Ethan Weiman who sadly lost his 2 year battle with Neuroblastoma Cancer on June 12th. Ethan was a brave little cowboy who loved knock knock jokes, balloons and of course horses. Last year Make-A-Wish fulfilled little Ethan's wish of having his own horse and a barn, so per the request of his family, all proceeds from the sale of these images will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. When I purchased my images $1381.59 had been raised already ~ what a generous group stampers are! Why not help another young child have their wish fulfilled and purchase your set of images today.

Vicki , Heather, and Lauren are all offering Pink Cat Studio prizes to support this fundraiser so be sure and check out their blogs as well.

I hope to get to using these adorable images tomorrow (well, technically, later today)!

Welcome back to.....School???

Well today is the day for a lot of great new releases over at MSB. So where exactly does school come in, especially since the kids just got done with school for the summer? Well, when I saw the new chalkboard image, I couldn't help but think of school, and then add in the newest Doodler girl as a teacher (doesn't she just make the cutest teacher ever welcoming back her students?), and what do you get, a back to school card.

The sentiment I generated on the computer generated using the Chalk Dust font. The DP is from the DCWV grade school stack and I love it (which is a good thing, since I have 2 8x8 stacks and 2 of the smaller mat stacks of it in my craft room).

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: All Together Doodler and The Chalkboard - Digi Stamps ~ Modern Sugar Blvd; Sentiment Computer generated (font - Chalk Dust)
Ink/Coloring: Copics (E00, E01, E37, E39, Y21, Y23, E31, R20, R29, B32, B34, T0, T1, T3, T5, T7)
Paper: Real Red; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - DCWV
Embellishments: Ribbon (Red); Dew Drops (colored with Copic R29); Apple cut from DP

Tools: EK Success Border Punch

I hope you enjoyed my previews of the new release and be sure to check out the rest of the Sugar's creations ~ they are wonderful!

Have a sweet day! :)

A new release at MSB!

There is another new release happening over at MSB tomorrow! In addition to the images I am previewing, there will also be images related to shopping and summer fun. Here are two projects to give you a peek of what is to come ~ stop by tomorrow to see my 3rd project.

I love to read and never can seem to find a bookmark when I need one, so I decided to make a tag bookmark with this Doodler image and placed the book in her hands. This started out as a big tag from the office supply store which I covered with some adhesive DP from Autumn Leaves. Because I didn't want bulky embellishments, I just went with a single layer of primas with some pretty flat rhinestones in the center. I am also entering this tag bookmark in the following challenges: Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is "Tag Your It" (make a tag/use a tag on your project) Charisma Cardz Challenge which is "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" (add sparkly/diamondy things to your project)

Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: All Together Doodler and The Book - Digi Stamps ~ Modern Sugar Blvd
Ink/Coloring: Copics (E00, E01, E37, E39, E50, E51, BG11, BG13, BG15, R20)
Paper: Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - Autumn Leaves - Splendor
Embellishments: Ribbon (Pink and Chocolate Chip); Flowers (Prima); Stick on Rhinestones (Michael's)

I decided to make To Do Momma look as though she is just finishing up the writing of the Happy Birthday sentiment (which was computer generated) on the Scroll. These card uses some more of the papers I got awhile back from the My Minds Eye Bloom and Grow collection ~ love these! While I have a fairly good assortment of dew drops, sometimes the colors don't quite match up with my project the way I would like, so I colored them with my copic marker.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: To Do Momma and Scroll - Digi Stamps ~ Modern Sugar Blvd; sentiment computer generated
Ink/Coloring: Copics (E00, E01, E02, E40, E41, E57, E59, RV11, RV13, BG000, BG18, BG72, T0, 0, R20); Sakura Stardust Pen
Paper: Barely Banana; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - My Minds Eye - Bloom and Grow
Embellishments: Brads (2 colored with copic BG75); Flowers (Prima); Dew Drops (colored with copic BG75); Twill Ribbon; Jewelry Spacer (Elite)

Be sure to check out all the other DT's fabulous creations!

Squigglefly Challenge #7

This weeks challenge over at Squigglefly is the "outside the box" technique ~ which simply put is to cut your image panel smaller than your image (without cutting through your image) and cut around the image where it sticks outside the "box". I have seen this done numerous times, but just never attempted it myself ~ now that I have I will definitely be doing this again.

I decided to incoporate some paper piercing to this card just to add some more interest since I kept the embellishments fairly simple.

Stamps: Turtle Taxi - Squigglefly; Sentiment - Small Sayings
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Copics (YR02, Y00, BV20, BV23, G82, G94)
Paper: Apricot Appeal, Barely Banana, Bordering Blue, Certainly Celery; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - Paper Pizazz
Embellishments: Dew Drops

Tools: Circle Punches; Key Tag Punch, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

This card also makes number five for me for the following challenges this week: Cute Daisy Mae challenge for using circles and the Stamp with Fun challenge for using Dots.

MSB Challenge #7

Tomorrow we have another challenge for you over at MSB. This week was a sketch challenge and surprisingly enough, it ended up being another business envelope size card. We also had to use a flower somewhere on the card. Here is the sketch we were given to use from Brandi:

And here is my card:As you can see, I turned the sketch sideways to accompany the "I'm Here" Doodler girl and Cupcake image I chose to use. I love this paper from Doodlebug, and I thought it would work well with these images. I paper pieced her shirt, pants, and the top of the cupcake and added stickles to all the dots on the paper as well as the hearts on the cupcake paper. I just had to put a flower in her hair, but couldn't leave it at that, so I added another flower on the lower right side. I was going to add a sentiment on the front, but didn't like how it looked so I omitted it.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: I'm Here and Cupcake - Digi Stamps ~ Modern Sugar Blvd
Ink/Coloring: Copics (E00, E01, E35, E37, R20, RV00, R02, RV14, RV17, B00, B20)
Paper: Pink Passion; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - Doodlebug
Embellishments: Brad; Flowers (Prima); Dew Drops; Stickles

Tools: Marvy Mega and Giga Square Scallop Punches; Scallop Border Punch; Retro Flower Punch (EK Success)

I am also using this card for the following challenges: Cute Daisy May which is to use circles; Stamp with Fun which is to use dots; Creative Inspirations Wednesday and Lili of the Valley both of which is to use paper piecing; One Stop Craft Challenge which is to add some sparkle.

Check out all the other fantastic cards from the rest of the DT and join us in our weekly challenge for the chance to win 2 free digi images!

Tonight we went to the zoo for a nightly event they hold every once in awhile for members. About 15 minutes after we arrived, it started to rain a little, but since it wasn't too bad we made our way to the animal buildings. While inside the second building, we suddenly heard what sounded like lots of rain ~ and unfortunately it was. After waiting it out a bit, we decided it was time to go home since it wasn't letting up at all....at least we were in a building that was right in front of the zoo entrance and didn't have to do a lot of running outside to get to the truck. I think that was our shortest visit ever to the zoo ~ I guess we should have followed our original plan and gone last night instead.....I just hope the rain is done by tomorrow!

TGF Summer Gardener Submissions

I decided that it's time to share the submissions I sent over to The Greeting Farm for the Summer Gardener DT call. All submissions had to use the colors orange and yellow. Of course I didn't have any DP with orange and yellow as the main colors, so a shopping trip was in order. I picked up some wonderful papers from Kaiser as well as the Lime Rickey papers from Basic Grey.

For this card, I actually colored two different images which are very similar with the main difference being the hair color ~ one blonde and one brunette (so if you see another card later on that looks familiar, that's why). I liked the blonde with these papers, but felt the brunette image just "popped" more so that's the one I went with.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Miss Anya (The Greeting Farm); Sentiment ~ Pupstar (The Greeting Farm)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Pumpkin Pie; Copics (E00, E11, R20, R83, R85, YG03, YG05, YR12, YR14, Y21, Y23, E31)
Paper: Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - Kaiser (Play Time)
Embellishments: Ric Rac Ribbon (JoAnn's); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Making Memories); Stickles

Tools: Curly Label Punch

I couldn't leave Ian out, so I had to make a boy card. It does look a bit plain, the more I look at it and probably should have added something more in the line of embellishments, but I just don't seem to have a lot of "boy" themed embellishments.....

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Skater Ian (The Greeting Farm); Sentiment ~ Pupstar (The Greeting Farm)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Copics (E00, E11, R20, B21, B23, Y11, Y13, Y21, E31, E55, E57, E59, YR12, YR14, YR15)
Paper: Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - Basic Grey (Lime Rickey)
Embellishments: Eyelet Snaps (Making Memories)

And finally I had to ink up my new Hope and Grace set. Her skirt reminded me of an upside down flower, so I decided to color it in a graduated color. The scallop border around the oval is actually a bunch of circles layered on the back of the oval. The color of the flowers is a bit off in this picture, but I just could not get the lighting right for this picture no matter what I did.....hate when that happens. I love the look of the tiny rhinestones around the scalloped circle, but boy is this a chore with long nails, they kept wanting to stick underneath my nails.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Hope and Grace (The Greeting Farm)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie; Copics (E00, E11, R20, R83, R85, YG03, YG05, YR12, YR14, Y21, Y23, E31)
Paper: Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - Kaiser (Play Time)
Embellishments: Ric Rac Ribbon (JoAnn's); Wide Grosgrain Ribbon; Brads (Making Memories); Stickles; Adhesive Rhinestones (Michael's); Flowers (Prima)

Tools: Circle Punches, Scallop Circle Punch; CM Cutting System; Martha Stewart Border Punch; Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (Swiss Dots)

Since you didn't see an announcement, I obviously did not make the DT this time around, but hey, there's always the fall.....and besides, I now have 3 great cards in my stash, so not all is lost.

Club Anya Release Party

On Sunday, Club Anya had release party with three different themed challenges. Since we had guests, I only ended up with about an hour to create my cards, photograph, upload (which is no quick task when you have over 900 pics on your memory stick....) and then post them. So needless to say, I only got two of the three challenges done.

The first one I did was a Beach Vacation theme.
For this card, I chose Mermaid Anya. Want to know why? Well, it's because, I had already colored and glittered her up awhile back and just hadn't used her yet, and since I didn't have much time, it was an easy choice.

The sky is Cool Caribbean paper sponged with White craft ink. For the water, I tore some Pacific Point cardstock and cut some more with my Sizzix Wave die, highlighted the tops with sponged on White craft ink and layered them onto the card base. The sand is just some torn sandpaper. I positioned Anya in the water behind one of the waves, added a clam and sentiment which is sponged around the edges with Cool Caribbean ink. This card actually came together really quick.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Mermaid Anya ~ The Geeting Farm; Crab & Company
Ink:
Cool Caribbean; White Craft; Memento Tuxedo Black; Copics (I colored it awhile ago, so I'm not sure of the colors)

Paper: Cool Caribbean, Pacific Point; Gina K Pure Luxury White; Sandpaper
Embellishments: Stickles

Tools: Wave Die (Sizzix); Oval Punch

The next challenge I participated in was to use stars.

For this card I chose to use Annika from the Wild Sprouts Collection. I used some DP from the DCWV school collection since it had stars on it, and then added a punched out star as well as the sentiment Star student. The sentiment is a "Star" stamp along with my handwriting for "student".

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Annika ~ The Greeting Farm; Sentiment "Star" ~ Pupstar ~ The Greeting Farm
Ink:
Memento Tuxedo Black; Copics (E00, E11, R20, R21, R22, YG13, Y21, Y23, E31, B93, B95); Basic Black Marker

Paper: Rose Romance; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - DCWV
Embellishments: Ribbon (Rose); Button (from stash); DMC Floss; Dew Drop;

Tools: Star Punch; Oval Punches; Ticket Corner Punch

Friends just chilling.....

This card I did following Gina K's Stamping Out Alzheimer's Sketch. Can you believe this card has 6 different digital stamp images on it?

I really love these Doodler girls from Modern Sugar Blvd.! When I first saw the It's Time to Relax girl, I knew I wanted to do something with her lying down on the couch. Once I positioned her on the couch, I started playing around with the other girls. The I'm here girl was easy, the way she is sitting just begged to be on the floor, so that's where she went. The other two girls were standing, so, for me, the obvious choice was behind the couch ~ and when I placed them there I knew it was perfect ~ I love how their arms were situated just right to look as though they are leaning on the couch.

I wanted the "wall" to be subtle, so I colored it with a really pale pink copic, went over it with my blender pen and added striping with the same color (which unfortunately isn't very visible in the picture).

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Just One of Those Days, I'm Here, Lots to Say, It's Time to Relax, Have a Seat (digi images) - Modern Sugar Blvd; Wood Floor (digi)- Michelle; Sentiment ~ Amy R Friend Sentiments (CC Designs)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Copics (E00, E31, E33, E35, E37, E55, E57, E59, Y21, Y23, RV000, RV00, RV02, RV11, RV13, BG000, BG01, YG03, YG06, V000, V01, V12, V15, N2, N4)
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - Doodlebug Designs
Embellishments: Flowers (Prima and Imaginisce); Dew Drops

Tools: Curly Label Punch

This card qualifies for the Stamp with Fun weekly challenge of using dots and Cute Daisy Mae's challenge of using circles (well, dots are circles right?). Edited to add this is also for the Copic Creations weekly challenge which is to color wood.

Squigglefly Challenge #6

This weeks challenge over at Squigglefly is to make a card using the colors pink and black along with a color of your choice (I chose white), as well as two flowers and two brads.
Instead of doing a girl image which would have been my normal go to image for these colors, I chose to use Tickery Dickery Doc and colored "her" pink with black highlights accented with the Sakura stardust pen and printed up a fun sentiment on the computer to go along with it. I placed my two brads in the center of the flowers on top of some wonderful bead caps I found yesterday at Michael's (finally ~ I've been looking for these things forever).

There were colds going around school last week, and my daughter ended up with one the last few days of school. Well, Friday I had a sore throat all day, and just figured it was from sleeping with the ceiling fan on all night, but over the weekend, I ended up with a terrible cold. I've been sneezing and blowing all day long ~ summer colds are the worst, and I usually end up having them for at least a week :(. I could give this card to my DH, not in the fun playful way it was intended to be, but in hopes that he makes me a nice bowl of chicken and dumpling soup.....or maybe not.....

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: - Tickery Dickery Doc ~ Squigglefly
Ink:
Copics (RV10, RV11, B34, B37, YG93, YG95); Sakura Stardust pen

Paper: Basic Black; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - Making Memories (Sabrina)
Embellishments: Flowers (Prima & Making Memories); Silver Brads; Bead Caps (Elite)

Tools: Word Window Punch

This card also qualifies for the Cute Daisy Mae Challenge for using circles and the Stamp with Fun challenge for using Dots.

MSB Challenge #6

Later today, there will be a new challenge posted over at Modern Sugar Blvd. This week our challenge was to make a business envelope size card (and I will admit that is very hard for me to do just because it so narrow ~ I like lots of space to work with). Earlier this week I had shown you two new images over at MSB illustrated by Pam West, well, here is the third one I promised.....The Potting Shed:

I decided to keep the colors soft on this one and love the crackling effect on the DP with this image ~ it just works so well.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: The Potting Shed - Digi Stamp Modern Sugar Blvd; Sentiment - Oval All
Ink/Coloring: Copics (E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, E55, E57, RV32, RV34, YG63, C1, C3, 0); Pretty In Pink; Basic Black Marker
Paper: Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - DCWV
Embellishments: Ribbon (Pink Taffeta)

Tools: Oval and Scallop Oval Punch; Eyelet Scallop Border Punch

Remember, if you play along in our weekly challenges you have the chance to win 2 free digi images of your choice. So hop on over to MSB and join us this week :)

Smile....

Today was the last day of school for the kids ~ wow, where did the time go?!? While I am very happy that I will have the 3 older kids home all day, I am a bit sad as it also means this was the last day Trevor and I got to spend alone together, as he will be off to school in the fall. I know you can't keep them young forever, but why do they need to grow up so fast?

We went to school to have lunch with the kids and then stayed for recess (which Trevor absolutely loves). After coming home for a bit to finish up a card for the principal (who we are sad is retiring this year), we went back to pick up the kids and deliver their teacher's gifts (and of course get a picture of them with their teachers). Alicia is really sad that school is over, she loves it and I think would go year round if given the option. Ashley and Tyler like school, but are thrilled to be off for the summer.

Just looking at this adorable turtle from Whimsie Doodles makes me smile ~ isn't she just the cutest turtle ever!?! And to make you smile even more, you can pick her up free ~ just hop on over to Whimsie Doodles (and while you're there take a peek at all the other cute images available).

I bought this My Mind's Eye paper (along with a bunch more) at my local LSS a few weeks ago and just had to use it with this turtle. Although I tend to gravitate towards the same color schemes, I was really drawn to this line of papers. I am trying to use more and more color combinations outside of my "comfort" zone, and you know what, I am really having fun with the process and finding that I like the results as well.

After coloring the image, I went over her spots and the rose with my Sakura Stardust pen ~ I just wish I could pick up the shimmer that this pen gives.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Whimsie the Turtle digi image ~ Whimsie Doodles
Ink: Copics (G24, G28, YG91, YG93, YR12, YR14, YG41, YG45); Sakura Stardust Pen; Signo White Gel Pen
Paper: Garden Green; Pumpkin Pie; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - My Mind's Eye (Bloom & Grow)
Embellishments: Ribbon (Tangerine); Flowers (Prima); Rhinestone Brad (unknown); Stylized Silver Hodge Podge Hardware; Dew Drops; Epoxy Sticker (Target)

Tools: Marvy Giga Scallop Circle Punch; Branch Punch and Border Punch (Martha Stewart)

I am also entering this card in the Cute Daisy Mae Challenge for using circles, the Stamp with Fun challenge for using Dots, and the Creative Inspirations Wednesday challenge for using 4 different papers.

MSB Bingo Party and new releases

It's an exciting week over at Modern Sugar Blvd! There is a new release tomorrow and along with that we will having our first ever release party over on Paper Craft Planet (June 11 beginning at 9:00 PM EST). Stop on by and join in the fun ~ there will challenges, prizes and a virtual Bingo game (see HERE for all the details). Oh, and the winner of the Bingo game will receive all 8 newly released images!

Here are projects showing a few of the images that will be released:

I decided to use her for a card and dug out my patriotic papers. Since I don't have any 4th of July sentiments, I came up with this one. The sparkler she is holding and her flip flops are colored over with a Sakura Stardust pen and they really shimmer in person.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Digi Stamp Modern Sugar Blvd; Sentiment computer generated
Ink/Coloring: Copics (E000, E00, E33. E35, E37, B21, B24, R20, R21, R22, R24, R27, R29); Sakura Stardust pen
Paper: Real Red; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - DCWV
Embellishments: Ribbon (Red)

Here is another image that is perfect for the 4th of July. On this one the "tin" areas were colored with a silver metallic pencil and then colored over with a Sakura Stardust pen. No matter how hard I tried, I just could not pick up the shimmer of this, but in person it is incredible!

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Digi stamp - Modern Sugar Blvd; sentiment computer generated
Ink/Coloring: Copics (B91, B93, B95, B97, R22, R27, R29); Metallic Art Pencils; Sakura Stardust pen
Paper: Night of Navy, Bordering Blue; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - DCWV
Embellishments: Ribbon (Navy); Dew Drops

Now here is a totally different image ~ and one that I wanted to showcase in a special way, so I chose to do a frame holding a poem that I came across quite some time ago.

The image actually has the ribbon above the girls outstretched hand, but I wanted to do something different with the ribbon. I enlarged it, lightened the lines, "colored" it a pale pink and placed it behind the poem before printing it out. Had this been a regular stamp, that wouldn't have been possible, but since it's digital, I was able to do this with no problem and I really like the end result.

Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Digi stamp - Modern Sugar Blvd; poem computer generated
Ink/Coloring: Copics (E00, E55, E57, R20, RV10, RV11, RV13, RV14); Acrylic Paint
Paper: Pink Pirouette; Gina K Pure Luxury White
Embellishments: Flowers (Prima); Brads; Dew Drops; Jewelry spacers (Michael's)

Tools: CM Cutting System; Wooden frame (Michaels)

I also want to mention that MSB has a new line featuring illustrations by Pam West. There are currently 10 images in the shop and they are gorgeous. Here are some cards that I made with these images (keep an eye out for a third on Friday).

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: The Window Shutters Digi stamp - Modern Sugar Blvd
Ink/Coloring: Koh-i-nor pencils and Crayola pencils blended with baby oil
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Creamy Caramel; Gina K Pure Luxury White
Embellishments: Pink Taffeta Ribbon

Tools: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Birds and Swirls

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: The Window Box Digi stamp - Modern Sugar Blvd
Ink/Coloring: Copics (E40, E50, E51, E53, C1, B41, B45, RV10, V12, V15, Y06, YG06, YG09)
Paper: Perfect Plum, So Saffron; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DSP - Prints Pack
Embellishments: Ribbon

Have a sweet day! :)

Squigglefly Challenge #5

It is Monday and that means it is time for a challenge over on the Squigglefly blog ~ stop on by and play along with us!

This was my very first challenge as a DT member for Squigglefly, so I couldn't wait to get started! The challenge was to use the colors Pink Pirouette, Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss and to also incorporate a button into the project.

Now I love Pink Pirouette and Pacific Point, but I don't think I have touched Kiwi Kiss since I got it, so I wasn't sure how this would play out until I came across this Basic Grey paper ~ I loved how it looked with the Kiwi Kiss and the rest just fell into place. The turtle has eyeshadow and nail polish thanks to my sakura stardust pen and the spots on the turtle have been colored over with my spica clear pen ~ in person it is so nice and shimmery.
I really wanted to take a picture of this one outside, but the weather just didn't cooperate with me these past few days......so hopefully you can see some of the shimmer on here.

MSB Challenge #5 ~ It's a Wedding

Saturday means it's time for MSB's weekly challenge. Stop on by the blog and join in the fun ~ we'd love to see what you create. And now, when you join in our weekly challenges, you have the chance to win 2 free digi images of your choice (one random winner will be chosen each week).

This is the first weekend in June and our challenge this week was a Wedding in which you had to incorporate Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue into your card. Not only was this an appropriate challenge for June, being a big month for weddings, but a timely one in my case since I will be needing a wedding card in the next few weeks.

Here is what I used:
Something Old ~ The Organdy Ribbon
Something New ~ The Digi Images
Something Borrowed ~ I "borrowed" the sentiment from my get rid of pile, but now I'm thinking I may just need to keep it again......
Something Blue ~ The cardstock and the ribbon

I added an adhesive pearl to her necklace, colored the top edging of her dress, her veil and the champagne bubbles with a Spica Gel Pen and added Stickles to the embossed dots on her dress.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Simply Ella and Champagne Flutes Digi stamps - Modern Sugar Blvd; Sentiment Studio G
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Copics (E00, E35, E41, R20, RV21, G17. C1); Atyou Spica Pen - Clear
Paper: Bashful Blue, Gina K Pure Luxury White
Embellishments: Organdy Ribbon (JoAnn's); Adhesive Pearl (Michael's); Stickles - Star Dust

Tools: Circle, Scallop Circle and Corner Rounder Punch; Fiskars Heart Corner Punch; Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Swiss Dots

As always, the other Sugars have come up with some fabulous creations this week, so be sure to take a peek at their blogs as well.

Don't forget to join in this weeks challenge for your first chance to win 2 free digi images!

Updated to add that I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Stampin Out Alzheimer's challenges I completed....

Here are a few of the cards that I did for various challenges on the Stampin Out Alzheimer's ning group this past weekend. Since there were quite a few challenges I wanted to participate in, I kept my cards pretty simple as it was a busy weekend and I did not have a lot of time for stamping. We had a mini golf and lunch outing for my Daisy Troop, got our garden planted, and since the weather was so nice, we spent lots of time outside with the kids!

Anyways, on to the cards.....

This one was for the I've got the Blues Copic Marker Challenge sponsored by Verve Stamps. You had to use the Copic colors B12 and B16 along with your choice of any one E color. I chose E33.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Sweet Deal ~ The Greeting Farm
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Pacific Point; Copics (B12, B16, E33, 0)
Paper: Pacific Point; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP - DCWV
Embellishments: Dew Drops

Tools:
Giga Scallop Punch; CM Cutting System

This was an All-In-One Challenge. You could only use 1 color, 1 stamp, 1 embellishment and 1 ribbon. I had to try this one to see if I could do it and I have to say this really was a challenge. I know I cheated a bit and used a teeny bit of yellow in the center of the flowers, and added a brad to the prima flower (but I'm using my creative license interpretation on that one because technically I think it is only one embellishment ~ the flower ~ and besides they NEED something to cover that hole in the center or they just don't look right).

I think that before I actually use this card though, I will add a sentiment to the right side and perhaps a few more of the little primas (that one just looks so lonely by itself)
