Happy Birthday Girl

Yay ~ I finally was able to post a picture on blogger after trying so many times ~ I hope it is all fixed now!

I was lucky and won this adorable stamp from Squiggle Stamps. Since my mail is a bit slow, and I haven't received it yet, Tracy was a sweet heart and sent me the digi image so I could enter the current challenge over at Squiggle Stamps ~ thanks again for that!

This is the sketch for their current challenge:

And here is what I came up with:
I have had this stack of papers for quite awhile, and while I really do like them, I never remember I have them ~ I guess it pays to go digging in your cabinets every once in awhile.  Unfortunately I still haven't come across my items that went missing some time back (and I ended up buying a new BG05 marker)...and now I can also add a bone folder, a pinking shears and an embossing stylus to the list ~ I swear a craft fairy comes and visits me, but instead of a good one that leaves me things I have a mean one that takes them away from me.....seriously though, I have no clue where the stuff is going, especially since it stays in my craft room, at one of my two work areas.  The image was colored with copics and I added some pearls (colored with R85) to the cupcake for some sprinkles.  I am loving those mini prima roses ~ so fun to use!

In addition to the Squiggle Stamps challenge, I am also entering the following:

Magical Crafts - "Something for the Girls"
One Stitch at a Time - Flowers
Paperworks - must have a cupcake somewhere
Pile It On - "Make It Sweet"
Stamp with Us - Birthday
Crafty Cardmakers - "Desert Island" - use items you would "NEED" to take on your island ~ copics, patterned papers, flowers, ribbon, cardstock, stamps, pearls, border punch, nesties ~ at least there wasn't a limit ;)
Crafty Angels - Summer - the colors remind me of summer
Sophisticat - Card for a Child
The Pink Elephant - Aqua
Hand Full of Stamps - "Use up that stock" of patterned papers - at least 2 different (I used 4)
Clearly Inspired - Ribbon
Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - Flowers
Fussy and Fancy - Birthday Card with a sweet treat on it
Stamp Scrap and Doodle - "Girlie"
Our Creative Corner - Blooming Blossoms
ABC Design - 1 Punch (border), 2 Stamps, 3 embellishments (ribbon, flowers and pearls)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Maid for You

Here is a card I made with Darla from InStyle Stamps.  I kept this one pretty simple as I printed the image on the large side.  I decided to color her in "traditional" maid colors of black and white, but I just had to add a touch of pink in there.

Be sure to check back on Friday as we will be having the InStyle Stamps blog hop!

Happy Birthday

Here is a card I made this afternoon, but haven't yet had a chance to type up a post.  Since I need to get it entered quick in a challenge, I'll come back a bit later to update this post.

OK, back to update now...

This card was really a quick one to make ~ always nice to do some of these now and then.  I have had this MAMBI stamp for quite some time but never used it, so I decided to ink it up.  Maybe I need to pull out some more of these MAMBI's and start using them ~ I bought a bunch of them a few years ago and sad to say, most have never seen ink yet.  I also used Bic Mark Its and Prismacolor markers since I was away from my copics when I colored this.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Little Paper Shop - Birthday Card
Simple Doodles - "Not a Spring Chick Anymore" - use old supplies (stamp, dp, brads)
Caardvarks - Monochromatic Card

KLSNS Challenge #27

This week the KLSNS challenge was from Joanna and she gave us a color challenge ~ naturals, greens and browns.  Well, I thought the Origins paper from Basic Grey was perfect for this challenge, so I used that and then decided on the Dragon Flower stamp by Stampavie since I usually color him green anyways.  I really wanted to add flowers on this one, but since I intend to give it to a boy, I didn't think it was such a good idea.
I was hoping for a sunny day yesterday so I could take a better picture of this card since it just wasn't turning out as well as I had hoped in my craft room, but it was overcast, so I couldn't get a better picture.   Thursday would have been an ideal day to retake this picture, but I was on all day field trip with my daughters 4th grade class ~ we went to visit the State Capitol which was pretty neat to see ~ and then after, we had the book fair and teacher conference.

We would love to have you join in our challenge this week and see what you come up with using these colors!  Stop on over at the KL Stamping N Scrappin blog for all the challenge details and to see some wonderful eye candy from the rest of the Design Team.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Tuesday Taggers - Dragons
Penny's Paper-Crafty - Anything Goes
Clearly Inspired - Ribbon
Tamiko's - Use nesties
Timeless Tuesday - Sketch
Simon Says - Things with Wings
The Creative Cottage - "Going Green"

Enjoy your weekend :)

KLSNS Challenge #26

Today is Alicia's big day ~ she will be competing with her DI team at State!  I am so excited for her and her team and wish them the best.  That said, this post will be short as I didn't get a chance to type it up before we left and am doing it on the road so to speak.

This week the KLSNS challenge was from Risa and her challenge was to "Bling It Up".  Well, for me that is easy to do, but instead of my go to rhinestones, I decided to use pearls.

I used this adorable new CC Designs stamp - Puppy Kiki along with Basic Grey's Lemonade paper.  The daisy strip was punched from an EK Success border punch and then I added pearls (that were colored with copics) to the center of each daisy.  I also added pearls to her dress and the centers of the two butterflies.  Stickles were added to her headband, bow and the butterflies wings.  The colors I used on this are quite a bit different that what I normally would use, but sometimes it's nice to break out of your comfort zone!

Stop on over at the KL Stamping N Scrappin blog for all the challenge details and to see some amazing eye candy from the rest of the team.  We'd love to see your bling!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Pink Purse

Well, Alicia and I got our hair done yesterday ~ we got a lot cut off (and I got highlights too), but we both love our new styles.

I just wanted to quickly share a card I whipped up using  purse image from InStyle Stamps.

I followed the sketch at Paperworks but rotated it (and I just had to add the pearls in the lower right corner ~ hope that's ok.

I am also entering the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant - 1 image, 2 dies (circle and scallop circle), and 3 of your favorite embellishment (pearls)
Color Chef - Pink, Black and White
Penny's Challenge - Anything Goes

Daisy Doodles - Pink and one other color (Black)

Now I'm off as I've got a lot to get done!

Have a fantastic day!

InStyle Stamps OTHBCGA

Well, right now I should be on my way home from the hair salon.  It has been quite some time since I went and had my hair done, but I figured that since my birthday is tomorrow, I deserved it.  Alicia decided that she wanted to get hers cut too, so after her DI practice tonight, it's off to the salon with her.  Ashley wants her hair cut short, but we decided to wait until after her ballet recital because we thought it may be too hard to style short hair properly for the recital.

Today brings us another InStyle Stamps "Over the Hump Blog Candy Giveaway".  This month our theme was Mother's Day.

I chose the Tulip image for my card and instead of using flowers for embellishments, I decided to stamp "mom" on some paper and cut out the letters with a circle punch.  This was actually a very quick card to make, which is always nice.

You know we'd love to see what you come up with for Mom, so go visit the InStyle Stamps blog for more information and to link your project when you've finished.

For the rest of April, InStyle Stamps is also offering a 50% discount on all rubber stamps, so if there are any you have been wanting, now is the time to buy them!

Have a fantastic day!

It's Showtime!

Since Ashley's Dance Recital will be here before I know it, I decided to make a card for her so I don't end up doing it at the last minute.  She will be wearing a purple leotard and skirt, so I colored this to match.  I used the Stage digi image from Hambo Stamps and combined it in Photoshop with a free digi image that I got last year from Two Scoops Rice Designs and came up with this:
The image was colored with copics and then I added stickles to the girls dress, shoes and hat as well as the embossed dots on the background panel.

I thought this image would work perfect for the sketch challenge over at Hambo Stamps so I followed that sketch.  In addition to that challenge, I am also entering the following challenges:

Paper Play - "Shiny Happy People"
Stampin for the Weekend - Ribbons and Bows
The Corrosive Challenge - Texture
Totally Gorjuss - Texture
Clearly Delightful - Use dry embossing and some yellow (I have very little - the centers of the flowers, but it is there)
Paper Sundaes - "Make a Scene"
The Crazy Challenge - "Don't Call me Flat"
Crafty Angels - "My Favorite Things" - copics, ribbon, rhinestones, stickles, border punch, nesties
Kaboodle Doodles - "Digi Girl" - use a digital girl stamp

Ok, that was hard to pick and choose challenges, since I could have entered many more, however two of them I wanted to enter have a limit of 10 challenges so 10 it is.

ISS Color Challenge and Sponsored Challenge

InStyle Stamps is sponsoring this weeks challenge over at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenges  which happens to be a wonderful sketch created by Mindy.  Head on over there to see the gorgeous creations their Design Team made and also to join in this weeks challenge for a chance to win a fabulous prize from InStyle Stamps.

It is also time for InStyle Stamps monthly Color Challenge.  This month we were given this color swatch to use:

And here is what I came up with from both of these challenges:
Since I love blue, I used more of that color in my project, with subtle hints of the other colors and I also rotated the sketch to fit the Kissing Birds image.  The birds were paper pieced (the wings and top hat were colored over with my 110-Special Black Copic marker and then placed on with dimensionals).  The organdy Ribbon was colored with my BG01 Copic Marker to match the paper.

We'd love to see what you come up with for our color challenge!  Head on over to the InStyle Stamps blog for further details.

Remember by shopping through this link: InStyle Stamps you will receive an automatic 5% discount on any stamp purchase you make.

KLSNS Challenge #25

This past week flew by with the kids home from school, but I love having them home and will really miss them when they go back on Monday!  Most of this week was pretty cold and rainy, so we did a lot of indoor things, but yesterday it got a bit warmer and the sun came out so we took the kids to the zoo and met my parents there as well.  What a nice way to spend the day!

This week the KLSNS challenge was from Kathy and her challenge to us was to use some type of Organic Material.  I started out using grape hyacinths under a clear dome sticker.  I flattened the flowers, attached them to the stickers and then trimmed then to fit.  The looked really pretty, so I thought I was set.  Since they were still a bit wet, I thought I would let them sit and dry overnight before attempting to attach them to a card......well, you will not be seeing those embellishments as the flowers shrunk up a lot and looked really bad since I had trimmed the edges  (if I wouldn't have trimmed them, I'm sure they would have been usable ~ lesson learned here, either attache the flowers and let them dry overnight trimming, if necessary, the following day, or, dry the flowers flat first and then adhere to the sticker).  So instead, I went for another walk through my yard and ended up making two of these embellishments using some dried flowers from an ornamental tree along with some dried ornamental grass.  I think they are actually quite pretty.

And here is the card in it's entirety:

I used this adorable High Hopes Bubble Love image for my card.  I colored the image with copics and then I added some Stickles to her bow, pony tail holder and heart patch as well as the butterflies.  I then added some Crystal Effects to the bubbles to give them a wet look as well as her shoes.  The patterned papers are from Basic Grey's Green at Heart stack (I am really loving these papers!).

Stop on over at the KL Stamping N Scrappin blog for all the challenge details and to see some wonderful eye candy from the rest of the Design Team.  We would love to have you join in our challenge this week and see what organic materials you can find and incorporate in your project!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Ashley's Birthday Card for her Daddy

Ashley made a card for her Daddy's Birthday yesterday and wanted to enter some challenges with it, so I am posting it on my blog for her since she doesn't have one.

Ashley pretty much did everything on this card, but she just couldn't get the punch to go through the cardstock matter how hard she tried, so I did that for her.  I think she did an awesome job, especially for a 7 year old!  You should have seen her layering her papers, after putting tape on the back, she gently placed them down so they wouldn't stick, and just moved them around every so slightly to get them just right.  When she was happy with it she then pushed down to make them stick.  She was really concentrating on what she was doing!

On the inside of the card she wrote a Happy Birthday message to her Daddy!

The papers are all SU, the image is from The Greeting Farm, the border punch is EK Success and she colored the image with Prismacolors and Bic Mark Its.

Ashley would like to enter the following challenges (hmmm, do I have a girl after my own heart?!?):

Anyone for Anya ~ Sketch
Roses on Paper ~ "Punch It" - use punches
Papertake - Open Theme
ABC Challenge - R is for Red
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
AI Factory - Anything Goes
Anya Ink - Anything Goes
Polka Doodles - Birthday
Simon Says Stamp - Children's Challenge ~ Anything you like ~ thanks for mentioning this Lorraine :)

KLSNS Challenge #24

I can't believe the weekend is here already.  The kids had off school yesterday and are off all next week, so I'm hoping that our warmer weather continues for them (and of course it is always nice to have warmer weather for the Easter Egg hunt, because looking for eggs while it cold (or worse yet snowing ~ which believe it or not, has happened before), isn't nearly as fun.

Today it's time for our weekly challenge at KLSNS.  This week Kelly gave us a 1-2-3 challenge.  1 image/sentiment; 2 Designer Papers; 3 embellishments.  These recipes are always fun, and as you can see, I took liberties with the 3 embellishments and used 3 different types of embellishments.

I had just received my monthly package of goodies from Kelly so of course I had to dig right in and get to work!  I picked this sweet Stampavie Stamp ~ Isabelle with Puppy Coco.  I already know this is one stamp my daughter will be using as well ~ she loves dogs and we had a dog named Coco until January of last year.  I used some Basic Grey papers from one of their newest stacks, Green at Heart ~ and if you haven't seen these papers yet, you need to check them out ~ they are absolutely gorgeous!   And did you notice that rose in the center of the larger flowers ~ this is one of the Mini Roses by Prima ~ they come in a pack of 24 with 3 assorted colors ~ love these!

Now quick question for you ~ when looking at pictures of cards, which view do you like better, the first picture where the card is slightly angled, or the second picture where the card is pretty much straight on?

Visit the KL Stamping N Scrappin blog for all the challenge details and to see some wonderful eye candy from the rest of the Design Team.  We would love to have you join in on the fun and enter this weeks challenge!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Magical Crafts - Spring/Easter Theme
The Corrosive Challenge - Easter/spring card
Crafty Cardmakers - Spring into spring
The Crazy Challenge - Spring is Here
Everybody Art Challenge - Spring
Papertake - Open theme
Crafty Creations - "Spring has Sprung"
Fab N' Funky - "Spring is in the Air"
Little Red Wagon -  Rolling into Spring
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch
AI Factory - Anything goes

Enjoy your weekend and fit some time in for stamping :)

InStyle Stamps Sketch Challenge - CAS8

Wow, can I just say I am loving the weather we have been having these last few days!  Temperatures in the 70's and sunny ~ what more could you ask for?

Being the first Friday of the month, it is time for a sketch challenge at InStyle Stamps.  In the past, the sketch and color challenges were posted on the Club Anime blog, but from now on all challenges will be posted on the InStyle Stamps blog so they are all in one place and easy to keep track of.

Here is this months sketch:

I rotated the sketch to fit the image I wanted to use and came up with this:

For my card today I used Jacob ~ doesn't he just look like the sweetest little kid ever?  I colored him to look like my youngest son and since he has a backpack on, I decided to use some papers from the Grade School stack. I don't have a star border punch (gasp), so I had to borrow my daughter's American Girl border punch.  It's hard to see in the picture, but I made his shirt plaid with a light blue and pale yellow.

Take a few minutes to visit the rest of the Design Team and see how they interpreted this sketch (the links are on the left side of my blog).  Please join in our sketch challenge this month, we'd love to have you!  Head on over to the  InStyle Stamps blog for further details.

Have a wonderful day!
