Happy Hallobean

Today it's time for another Garden Variety Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm!  This week Anita challenged us to use Halloween Colors.....pretty easy to do since it is just around the corner.

For my card I used the new Hallobean digi stamp.  I colored her with copics and added some stickles to the stars and moon on her hat.  To better match the star paper to the striped paper I took a copic and colored the white stars green.  I used the spider web border punch by Martha Stewart and then added a black satin ribbon along with some chipboard stars and a chipboard sentiment.

I had to use a different paper since I ran out of my Copic x-press It......how did that happen?!?!?  Since I had some Neenah Exact Smooth White leftover from printing tags for a consignment sale I participated in I thought I'd try that.  Well, definitely not my favorite, it tends to bleed more than I would like so I have to be really careful when coloring in small spaces or along the lines, but until I get my favorite back, it will have to do ;)

Be sure to stop back tomorrow, I have something fun to share with you.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Oh, BABY! It's time for the TGF June Release!

Hi, everyone!

Thanks so much for joining me today in the JUNE release at The Greeting Farm!

As you've seen over the past few days, we are going "ga-ga" over this new installment of cuteness available NOW in the TGF Store!   We're welcoming the new onesie die, the revamped Anya and Ian stamp set, the new Winky Bean, and a new WS Charlotte "Chic"!  We're keeping it sweet and sassy this month and can't WAIT to see what you do with these new items!

For my first card I used the new Winky Bean:
I love the playfulness of the Beans so I just had to use some fun cheerful papers.  She was colored with copics and I added a few pearls and a satin ribbon and bow to finish it off.

For my second card I used the Onesie Die and a sentiment from the Baby Anya and Ian set.
Instead of using it as a onesie, I decided to try something different.  I cut off the bottom part of the onesie, added some lace and a little button and voila....it's a dress.  I came across the baby girl ribbon and had to use it with this.

I'll leave you now to continue our Blog Hop, where you'll not only find inspiration and adorable project samples, but you'll also be on your way to a chance to WIN the ENTIRE JUNE RELEASE!   One lucky winner who hops and comments on each DT members' blog and then returns to the TGF BLOG to let us know they did, will win and you have ALL WEEKEND to hop since today's a Saturday!

Just enter by Sunday, June 2nd at 11:30 pm and we'll announce the winner along with our fabulous June Guest Designer Monday morning, June 3rd.  Happy hopping, everyone!

Thanks for stopping and have a great day!

Garden Variety Tuesday with TGF

It's Garden Variety Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm ~ basically it's the same challenge as Double Take Tuesday, it just a new catchy name ;) . This week Thanh challenged us with a sketch and this is what I came up with:

I used the Limited Edition Queen Bean from last month's release (there are still some of the Limited Edition Beans remaining, so if you still haven't ordered these, go over and grab them before they are gone).  I colored her with copics and cut her out.  I used 4 different patterned papers and added some pearls along with a sentiment from the Delicate Words Die Set.  This was a fun sketch to work with!
Stop by The Greeting Farm blog to check out the rest of the Design Teams amazing projects this week.  While you're there, we'd love to have you join us this week ~ just link up your entry on the blog.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful day!

DTT with The Greeting Farm

Today is time for another Double Take Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm. This week Andrea gave us a color challenge based on Earth Day and here is my card:

I used Hatter Bean and colored her with copics.  Since I couldn't find any patterned paper I was happy with in these colors, I decided to make the image the focal point and drew in some grass and colored the sky with my copics as well.   I embossed the blue paper, added a ribbon with a slider charm and some pearls.

Here is the inspiration photo for the color challenge today:

Time is running out on these Limited Edition Beans as they will only be available during the month of April, just a week left!  Be sure to get yours before they're gone for good!

Remember when I told you that my Elementary Team was headed to the State Tournament for DI?  Here was the building their challenge was in:
Here the kids are ready to go on:
Posing for a picture after their presentation:
And the results are in.....2nd place at State and going to Global Finals!!!!  They scored the highest out of all the Elementary level teams in both their actual challenge and in the press conference!  Unfortunately they didn't do as well in the Instant Challenge and that is why the ended up in 2nd place...guess what we'll be working on the next few weeks....well that and a lot of FUNDRAISING ;)
Here is part of the happy team at the end of the Awards Ceremony:

My Middle Level team did not make the top 3 in the video contest, so they are officially done for the season :(

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!  :)

Spring Time Alice

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today I have a card to share with you using Alice Bean

I colored Alice with Copics and then added her to a Spellbinders Lacey Oval that I had cut out of patterned paper.  I almost ended up coloring her in blues again, but when going through my papers I found some old My Minds Eye papers that I have been holding onto forever, {I know I'm not the only one that does this ;)} and thought they would look great with Alice so I used those instead.  I added some self adhesive pearls, a few roses and then a sentiment using October Afternoon letter stickers (although I did color the edge of them with copics to make them blend in better).

I really love using these Limited Edition Beans ~ they are too darn cute and so much fun to color!  Remember, they are only in the TGF store until the end of April, so if you have your eye on any (or all) of them, you should get them soon.

Now I will admit that I had to color 4 images before I had a usable one.  I filled up a few of my copics and evidently filled one a bit too much because I went to use it and it dropped a big glop of ink on my image....there went #1.  I thought I took care of the problem, but when coloring #2 and #3 it happened again....so much for those.  I think I finally got it fixed since I didn't have any problems with the 4th image, but gee, what a pain that was!

Well, tonight is my Elementary DI teams last practice before they head off to State.  Hopefully they will finish up everything they wanted to work on.  Saturday is the big day....if they place 1st, 2nd or 3rd, they are off to Global Finals.....I know they are really hoping to make it.

My Middle School DI team didn't make it to State, so instead of practicing, they spent the last week working on a video to enter into the DI skills contest since the winner of the contest wins a trip to Global Finals.  They are really hoping that their video gets picked as one of the top 3 and goes on to public voting.  Crossing my fingers for them because I know how much this means to them.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Retro Fresh Wednesday with The Greeting Farm

Today it's time for Retro Fresh Wednesday, a month long challenge, over at The Greeting Farm.

The theme for this month is
Polka Dots and Plaid
(and use a TGF stamp that is older than 6 months)

For my card I used Shimmer Bean who was released last March.  I colored her with copics and added some stickles as well as a rhinestone to the image.  For my embellishments I used the die from the Mini Fleurs w/die set adding a button and ribbon bow to the center and the die from the Mini Flutters w/die set adding rhinestones to the center.  When it was done, it still looked too plain so I went and added dots to all the white borders with a Stampin Up marker ~ I haven't done that for a long time, but I love it!

We'd love to have you join in the Retro Fresh Challenge....remember, you have an entire month to enter and the winner gets a 4x6 stamp set of their choice as well as a single stamp.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day :)

DTT with The Greeting Farm

Today is time for another Double Take Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm. This week Maria gave us a color challenge and here is my card:

For my card I used Hatter Bean and colored her with copics. I added two doilies, some pearls (also colored with copics), a tulle bow with a button center and a sentiment from the Delicate Words Die Set.

So did you figure out what colors we were supposed to use?
They are:
Pink, Yellow and Turquoise ~ perfect spring time colors!

Remember these adorable new beans are Limited Edition and will only be available during the month of April, so be sure to get yours before they're gone!

DTT with TGF

Today is time for another Double Take Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm. This week Joni challenged us to a sketch and here is my card:

For my card I used Alice Bean, colored her with copics and cut her out.  I added her to a panel along with a sentiment from the Delicate Words Die Set ~ definitely a must have!  I added two buttons ties with some embroidery floss, a satin ribbon and a punched corner piece.  After playing around with my card elements I ended up flipping the sketch upside down since everything seemed to fit better ;)

And here is the sketch:

It's APRIL in WONDERLAND at TGF!

Hi, everyone!  Today is the day, and this is NO April Fool's trick!   We are excited to bring you the APRIL release, beginning with our LIMITED EDITION "Wonderland Beans" as well as our Delicate Words die which will be available ongoing in the TGF Store.

We've had a few questions about this Limited Edition release.  Rest assured we will re-stock as we need to during the month of April, but after that, they will be gone, so get them while the portal to Wonderland remains open!  ;)

We also have some big news as far as releases go.  As you may have read, TGF is thrilled to announce that starting NOW we are going back to MONTHLY releases...so there will be a lot of additional excitement here on the Farm!

Today I used Queen Bean:
I colored Queen Bean with copics and added some Ruby Slipper Stickles and Dazzling Diamonds for some sparkle, after all she is a Queen and deserves to shine ;)  Since most of my card was filled up with the image and sentiment I kept the embellishments simple by just adding a few punched out hearts (some with stickles on them) and some pearls.   I am in love with this new release and can't wait to share more cards with you this month.

Well, we know the moment you've been waiting for is just around the corner now that RELEASE DAY is upon us!  Be sure to hop with us today, because one AMAZINGLY lucky winner will receive the ENTIRE Wonderland Bean collection PLUS the new Delicate Words die!   In addition, a SECOND winner will be drawn to win a 2nd Delicate Words die, so be sure to hop and you all have until 11:30pm CST tonight to do so!   If you're just starting out on my blog, be sure to go back to the beginning and go from there:

Back to TGF BLOG to comment and let us know you've completed the hop!  (and how much you loved it, of course, should you feel inclined ;)

Thanks so much for visiting...and we hope you enjoy APRIL in Wonderland!

TGF Preview.....Cheshire Bean

Today I get to share a preview from The Greeting Farm's newest Limited Edition release which is Wonderland themed and.....there is a new "Delicate Words" die set coming too!  The die set and the new stamps will be available in the TGF Store on April 1st.  Be sure to check back that day because we will also be having a Design Team blog hop to celebrate.

Today I get to share Cheshire Bean with you.

My first card is done in hot pink and black and, and I used some fun accents that were left overs from my middle school DI teams fairy costumes.....maribou feathers, tulle and "rhinestone" mesh trim.  I also added some stickles to her ears and ponytail holders.  The papers were originally black and white but I colored over the white with a pink copic marker ~ love doing that to change the look of the paper.

For my second card I used a monochromatic color theme.  The button, thread, flower and pearls were colored with copics.  Notice the sentiment on there.....that's one of the new "Delicate Words" dies ~ love that font!  I couldn't find any cardstock that matched these papers close enough, so I ended up using Naturals White paper for my base and sentiment and colored them with a copic marker.

Be sure to stop by the TGF blog to see some more gorgeous cards using this stamp and to find out how you can win this Cheshire Cat Bean stamp.

Thanks for stopping and have a great day!

The Greeting Farm Guest Designer Monday

Happy Monday everyone! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around my house.   We had our decorations up in time for St Nick and put the tree up over the weekend.  I have stacks of boxes that UPS delivered during the week that need to be wrapped and we had our first snowfall yesterday (only about an inch though).  I love how a fresh coat of snow looks on the ground and on the trees, but truth be told, I absolutely hate driving in it!  If it could just snow in the grassy areas and not the streets/driveways I'd be happy ;)

Speaking of Christmas and snow, my first card features Holiday Anya II and a few snowflakes.

Anya was colored with copics and I paper pieced her dress, ribbon and shoes, highlighting those with copics as well.  On the snowflakes I added some glitter for a little extra sparkle.  Since it is a Christmas card, it fits in with last weeks FFF challenge Christmas or Holiday Themed Card.  If you still have Christmas/Holiday cards to make, there is still a few days left to play in that challenge and we'd love to see them!

For this card I would like to enter the following challenges:
Creatalicious Challenges - Winter
Charisma Cardz - Christmas
Craft Challenge - Christmas
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Merry Christmas
Delightful Challenges - Christmas
Frosted Designs - On the 4th Day of Christmas - use 4 patterned papers
Fussy and Fancy - I Love Christmas
One Stop Craft Challenge - Christmas Friends
Paper Play - Christmas is Coming
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Snowflakes
The Ribbon Girl - Christmas Projects

Now in a totally different direction....this card reminds me of summer time with the bright colors.
I wanted to use last weeks DTT challenge of "It's a Rainbow", so I chose Twinkle Bean.  The "Beans" are really fun to give different colored hair to, and although I usually stick to blue or pink, I decided to go all out and color it in rainbow colors.  To keep the rainbow theme throughout, I stamped the background paper and colored the rhinestones in matching colors.  It's a bit different than what I'd usually do, but I think it's whimsical and fun!  There is still a bit of time to play along in this challenge (ends today), so if you have some free time, we'd love to see what you come up with!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenge:
Frosted Designs - On the 2nd day of Christmas - use 2 stamps (image and chevron)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
