Happy Hallobean

Today it's time for another Garden Variety Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm!  This week Anita challenged us to use Halloween Colors.....pretty easy to do since it is just around the corner.

For my card I used the new Hallobean digi stamp.  I colored her with copics and added some stickles to the stars and moon on her hat.  To better match the star paper to the striped paper I took a copic and colored the white stars green.  I used the spider web border punch by Martha Stewart and then added a black satin ribbon along with some chipboard stars and a chipboard sentiment.

I had to use a different paper since I ran out of my Copic x-press It......how did that happen?!?!?  Since I had some Neenah Exact Smooth White leftover from printing tags for a consignment sale I participated in I thought I'd try that.  Well, definitely not my favorite, it tends to bleed more than I would like so I have to be really careful when coloring in small spaces or along the lines, but until I get my favorite back, it will have to do ;)

Be sure to stop back tomorrow, I have something fun to share with you.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Garden Variety Tuesday - Did someone say Christmas?

Today it's time for another Garden Variety Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm!  It was my turn to pick the challenge, and since Christmas will be here before we know it, I thought it would be nice to get started on those Christmas Cards.  My challenge is "Head Start on the Holidays", make a Christmas Card.

For my card, I used the new Holiday Anya 3 and colored her with copics.  I added some liquid applique to her hand warmer, and then covered it with stickles.  I also added stickles to her star and some pearls to her boots.  I chose a monochromatic theme based on the background paper, and since I really didn't want to cover up much of it (I love all the flocked detailing), I kept the layout very simple.  I added some ribbon, and a sentiment (I outlined the punched shape with a copic and added some rhinestones).  This would definitely be an easy card to make multiples of!

Be sure to enter this weeks challenge at The Greeting Farm, I'd love to see your Christmas Cards!

Thanks for visiting and have a fantastic day!

Garden Variety Tuesday....White Wedding

It's Tuesday so that means time for another Garden Variety Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm. This week Maria challenged us to use 3 or more layers:

For my card I used the new Layer Cake Clear Stamp set.  I stamped the cake pieces in embossing ink and heat embossed it with detail white embossing powder.  After that, I used an embossing pen to color in the hearts and the swirls on the cake and then heat embossed that with a glitter embossing powder.  The platter was stamped with gray ink and then I added pearls to it. To add texture to the different layers, I used the Swiss Dots and the Modern Wallpaper Cuttlebug folders along with a heart border punch.  To finish it off, I added a few more pearls and a satin/organdy ribbon and bow.

Garden Variety Tuesday at TGF

It's Tuesday so that means time for another Garden Variety Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm. This week Annie Rose gave us a sketch challenge:

For my card I used Cheeky Lessons and colored her with copics.  I added some Crystal Effects to her glasses and the apple for shine.  The buttons are from Jane's Buttons and I added some embroidery floss to them.  The ribbon had white stitching, but I colored the white with one of the copic markers I used for her dress. The little embellishments in the corner are from a set of clear dollar stamps from a few years back.  The papers are Lily Bee and one is from a stack I picked up at Walmart one night when my daughter and her friend wanted to go there to get some party supplies.

Here is the sketch:

Also, for the 4-13 year olds, there is a Kidz Contest at The Farm this week.  It will run through Sunday July 21st at 8:00 pm.  Check out the post I linked above for more details.

I thought I could get all 4 of my kids to participate, but only Trevor had enough time to actually complete a card (we have been crazy busy this past week with play practices, kids over, kids going to friends houses and being away most of the weekend).  Trevor is 9 and here is his card:

Trevor used McSpendid Farm and Sheriff Ian (both retired).  He colored them with copics and metallic paint pens and then cut them all out.  I love how he made the cow have spots!  When he was cutting, he said "I think I should bubble cut the chicks feet and the pigs tail so I don't cut them off"  ~ love how he was thinking ahead.  He used my grass paper punch for the edge of the green paper and my sizzix die for the sun.  The sentiment is also from the Simple Stories paper pad and he chose it because he said "This is perfect for my card since it is sunshiny"  I think he did a great job (and think he may be able to line up paper better than me).

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!  :)

Garden Variety Tuesday with TGF

It's Garden Variety Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm ~ basically it's the same challenge as Double Take Tuesday, it just a new catchy name ;) . This week Thanh challenged us with a sketch and this is what I came up with:

I used the Limited Edition Queen Bean from last month's release (there are still some of the Limited Edition Beans remaining, so if you still haven't ordered these, go over and grab them before they are gone).  I colored her with copics and cut her out.  I used 4 different patterned papers and added some pearls along with a sentiment from the Delicate Words Die Set.  This was a fun sketch to work with!
Stop by The Greeting Farm blog to check out the rest of the Design Teams amazing projects this week.  While you're there, we'd love to have you join us this week ~ just link up your entry on the blog.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful day!
