KLSNS Challenge #15

Ready for another challenge over at KLSNS?  This week the challenge was hosted by yours truly and since I love sketches, I challenged the DT to create a card using the following sketch I created:

I used this adorable Seal Puppy Love image from High Hopes Stamps.   I was paging through my paper stacks and thought this Lime Rickey paper was an unexpected but fun choice to use for a Valentine's Day card.  I embossed the scalloped circle an then colored the raised parts with a copic marker.  Some ribbon, a Valentine button, a few dew drops (which kind of blend in with the card), a punched out heart (love those new Martha Stewart punches) and an enamel heart charm (which was a surprise in my first DT kit from Kelly) finish off the card.

Please join us this week, not only because this sketch looks like fun ;), but  there is a fantastic prize package up for grabs this week!  I know the rest of the DT has some wonderful creations to share with you as well, so take a peek at their blogs too!

I am also entering this for the following challenges:
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Freestyle
Creative Card Crew - Punch It - use punches
Creative Belli Blog - Hearts
Crafty Creations - Celebrations
Nutty Nutshells Wednesday - at least 3 layers, Ribbon and glitter

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge - Hearts

InStyle Stamps Blog Hop

Welcome to the January InStyle Stamps Blog Hop!

Edited to add...I had my post scheduled for 11:00 AM CST today, but for some reason Blogger didn't play nice today, and it never posted, so I am manually posting it right now.  I'm sorry to those who were looking for my post earlier today.

I am the first stop this month, so you are at the right place to begin hopping.  When you have completed the hop, you should end up back at InStyle Stamps where we would like you to vote for your favorite project. The DT member that receives the most votes will win a prize AND just for voting you also have the chance to win a prize too!

This month our theme is Hearts, and of course I thought of Valentine's Day.   Since I know I will need to have some treats to hand out for the holiday, I decided to make a treat bag.
I used Lisa and then added the Stack of Hearts to the wagon before printing the image.  The Stack of Hearts image comes with a bow on top of it, but I added a ribbon bow instead.  I intentionally left the space above the bow empty because, before handing these out, I will have the girls write the name of who it is for in that area.

I also made a Valentine's Day Card with Ava Holding Balloons and thought that I would share that as well.
Since this patterned paper is pretty on it's own, and the heart is so large, I went with a simple look.  The balloons and her shoes are covered with a clear glaze marker (the green ones have stickles added as well) and the balloon strings were traced (and drawn in where missing) with a black glaze marker.  I used liquid pearls for her belt.  I also tried something new and colored her skin with E00, E01, E11 and R20, and I think I like that much better than my normal E00, E01, E02 and R20 combo!

Thanks for visiting! Hop on over to Genevieve ~ I know she will have something wonderful to share with you.

Remember....to receive an automatic 5% discount on your purchases, please be sure to go through this link InStyle Stamps.

Have a wonderful day :)

Soft Pencil Thursday

This week we were challenged to use any combination of rhinestones, eylets, and/or brads.  The image we got to use this week is a Michu and Michula.  Don't they look so cute cuddling each other?

When I saw the image I knew right away where my rhinestones were going ~ on the dots in that heart!  Although, at first I had planned on putting more rhinestones on, once I started adding them, I thought less was more for this image ~ after all, I didn't want to take away from Michu and Michula.  I did add some extra sparkle to the card by coloring in the heart on the sentiment with some Ruby Slippers Stickles.  I used some paper from the K&Co KaZoo line ~ have I already mentioned how much I love these papers??  The are especially wonderful for Valentine's for all the little ones in your life!

The rest of the DT has some wonderful eye candy to share with you as well, so please stop by and visit them (links are on the left of my blog).  We'd love to have you join in on our challenges over at Paper Craft Planet ~ they are every Saturday and not only do you have a head start on the upcoming challenge (use rhinestones, eyelets and/or brads), you still have until tomorrow night to get in on the current challenge where the lucky winner will receive a $10 voucher to the store.

Have a wonderful day :)

KLSNS Challenge #14

IT is time for our weekly challenge at KLSNS. This week we were challenged by Jacilynn to use Nesties, Die Cuts (or punches if you don't have either of those).  I chose to use a combination of nesties and punches (I still don't own any circle or oval nesties).

Since I don't think I will be doing too many more winter themed cards, I decided to use this cute stamp and sentiment from CC Designs and paired it up with some papers from Basic Grey.   The image was colored in with my copics and then I added glitter to the snowman because you have to have some sparkle!

Please join us this week and be sure to check out the rest of the DT as they all have some fabulous creations to share with you!

My favorite vacation destination

Your Next Stamp is having a blog hop (click on the YNS blinkie on the right side of my blog to get there) and to be entered to win their new releases, we were asked to post our favorite vacation destination and/or our favorite singer along with pictures.

I think one of my favorite vacation destinations would have to be Disney World, and have been there many times.  There is so much to see and do between Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Studios, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney.  It is just a fun, happy place to be and brings out the kid in you.  Unfortunately the last time we have been there was almost 7 years ago (we celebrated my son's first birthday there and had dinner with the Characters ~ that was fun!).  My two youngest haven't been there at all, so I think we need to get down there again one of these days!  I didn't have a digital camera back then, so instead of one of my pictures, I can only share a picture I found on the internet of Cinderella's Castle.

Soft Pencil Thursday

This week we were challenged to make a Friendship card using the image of Amy, Michu and Ratiny.  Elizabeth made this because of the many requests she received to turn her logo into a digital image.

.
I love the soft colors of this paper from K & Company.  I've had it for quite some time and this is the first I've used it (yes, I am a paper addict).  I followed this weeks sketch over at Cupcake Craft Challenge, but rotated it to fit my image ~ another sketch for the keep file.

Cupid Jacob

I came across Little Loud Stamps from Paper Works in December and ordered the complete Christmas Freckle Collection.  When I saw that they came out with a Love collection, I knew it was a must have.  I was lucky enough to have won a stamp from this line and a store credit from Peggy, so it made an affordable set even more so!  I just had to ink up Cupid Jacob first and here he is......

I followed the sketch for this weeks challenge at Paper Works.  I knew I wanted to use this DP for him, and I wish I knew who made it because I would love to have more of it!  I got it in a 6x6 DP "grab bag" from my LSS awhile back and it doesn't have any information on the back.  Jacob was colored with my copics and the bow is colored in with a metallic gold gel pen.  Stickles on his wing and the hearts finish the image off.  The adhesive pearls in the corners are from Queen and Company, and when I first got them, I didn't see myself using this particular color, but it ended up being a perfect match for this.  While I would have liked a thinner organdy ribbon, this was all I had in this color.

In addition to the Paper Works sketch challenge, I am entering this card in the following challenges:

ABC Challenge - L is for Layering
Creative Belli Blog - Glitter
Creative Inspirations - "New Year, New Products"- Stamp, Border Punch
Charisma Cardz - "Anything New" - Stamp, Border Punch

Birthday Bunny

I recently learned that Laurie has a new monthly challenge on her blog Clearly Delightful and is giving everyone that participates an exclusive Cleary Delightful digital image of the month.

This month, the theme is Bunny Rabbits and I just happened to have this cute Bunny image from Bee Crafty that I have never used yet.

Since I knew I wanted the bunny to be gray, I decided to go with a pink and gray color scheme.  I used some retired SU DP and Going Gray Cardstock ~ I wish this color was still available individually because I really like the lighter gray.  I stippled Pink Pirouette inside the nestie to give it a white frame and just added a few dew drops to finish it off. The colors in the picture appear darker than they actually are, and in person the card is more subtle.

Now I just have to show you the adorable image I will be getting from Laurie just for participating.  It is called "Bunny Wabbit".

Is this not the cutest little bunny!?!  This image is really versatile and I can see it used for many different things besides Easter and Baby cards.  I can't wait to play with this one.

In addition to Laurie's Challenge at Clearly Delightful, I am entering this card in the following challenges:

ABC Challenge - L is for Layering

Mikey the Monkey

Earlier this month Joni at Inktegrity had a contest Called "What can I say?" and to enter you had to come up with a saying(s) for this picture:

I just thought he was so cute and to me it looked as though he was swinging from a branch, so one of the ideas I submitted was "Swinging by with a Valentine hi".  Joni picked my saying as one of the three to be used with the image ~ how exciting is that!?!  Joni sent each of the 3 winners their own Mikey the Monkey set before it was released to the public.  Unfortunately I had  quite a busy week, so I only got him printed and colored earlier this week and finally got around to putting him on a card tonight ~ so here's Mikey.......

I picked up the new Ka-Zoo papers from K & Company (they are just adorable) the other day with a 50% off coupon (gotta love those) and I thought these two papers were perfect for Mikey.  Very non-traditional Valentine's Day colors, but I like it.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

KLSNS Challenge #13

Wow, the weeks sure fly by.  Here it is the weekend again and time for another challenge at KLSNS. This week we were challenged by Joana to use a dragon/reptile stamp or texture in honor of "Appreciate a Dragon Day".  Since I don't yet own any of the cute dragon stamps by High Hopes or Stampavie, I decided to use "Edwin with Lizard" from the Magnolia collection.  And speaking of Magnolias, KLSNS has at least 10% off all Magnolias in stock AND you can get an extra 20% off with the code "Maggies".

To keep in line with the reptile theme, I used the Tiny Mosaic embossing folder and then some paper from Basic Grey that I thought worked well with this.  I also tried something new with this card, paper pleating.  It definitely takes a bit of time to get the paper all scored and folded, but it adds a really nice touch.  After pleating the paper, I distressed the edges of each pleat and then sponged them so they stood out a bit more.

Please join us this week and be sure to check out the rest of the DT as they all have some fabulous creations to share with you!

If you missed my High Hopes post, they have a new illustrator on board, the one and only Dustin Pike and I am happy to say that the KLSNS store will be carrying some of his new images!  If you are not already familiar with Dustin's work I would highly suggest visiting his blog, you are in for a treat (and each week Dustin has a free digital image available).  Kelly was lucky enough to have one of these new stamps in her hands, so you get a sneak peek of that today when you visit her blog

High Hopes News

High Hopes has a new artist on board, and it is the one and only, Dustin Pike.  If you are not familiar with Dustin's work, I would suggest you check out his blog.  I have quite a few of his digital images, so I was thrilled to hear that his images will now be available in rubber.

To celebrate Dustin's new release with High Hopes, they are having sneak peeks on Sunday through Tuesday and then a blog hop on Wednesday, January 20th, the day of the release.  I know I will be checking these out.

Soft Pencil Thursday

This week we were challenged to use our favorite sketch.  Now I don't know about you, but asking me to use my favorite sketch is like asking me to pick which child is my favorite ~ it simply can't be done.  However, I have chosen a sketch that I used already this week, and have used in the past as well as variations of it, so it is one of my favorites.  The image we are using this week is A Lovely Couple and they are just that!

Soft Pencil has a brand new store { softpencilshop.blogspot.com } and a brand new look.  It's really easy to navigate and Elizabeth has added some adorable new images that are perfect for Valentine's Day, or just to say "I Love You" anytime of the year.

I know that the rest of the DT has some amazing creations to share with you as well, so please visit them and you may just find your next favorite sketch!  Come and join in on our challenges over at Paper Craft Planet ~ they are every Saturday and there is still time to get in on the current challenge where the lucky winner will receive a $10 voucher to the store.

OTHBCGA

Today is the second Wednesday which brings another Over the Hump Blog Candy Giveaway at InStyle Stamps.  Since Valentine's Day will be here before we know it, the theme this month is hearts.

For this card I used Ava with Balloons and paper pieced her dress and the balloons.
