The Greeting Farm ~ CCC3

Here was my entry for The Greeting Farms "Case of the Curious Card III". I had never done one of their challenges before (since I just got my first Greeting Farm stamps earlier this month), but now that I have some, I will definitely enter more of these contests!

For this card I chose to use SU Flowers for You DSP because I have 3 packs of this stuff sitting around and need to use it! It's nice and springy, and, with all the rain we've been having, I needed a little pick me up so the bright colors were perfect for that.

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Miss Anya stamp - The Greeting Farm
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Copics (E00, E11, E31, Y21, Y23, R20, RV21, RV23, RV25, BV02, BV04, BG02, BG05, BG07, YG63)
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose; Gina K Pure Luxury White DSP - Flowers for You
Accessories: Martha Stewart border punch; Dew Drops

I've been working on other projects, but I can't share them yet ~ they are DT stuff, so you will just have to wait to see these.... There were some weekly challenges that I wanted to enter too, but we have out of town guests staying with us, so I haven't been able to spend quite as much time in my craft room.

Another preview for Modern Sugar Blvd

It was hard not to share this with you earlier, but here is my project for Sunday's release using Vacuum Gal. When I saw this image I knew right away that I wanted to make a chore box for my kids. To divide up the chores, they had been writing down things to do, and then handing them out, but now all they need to do is open the box and pull one out! They have had a lot of fun with this so far ~ and the favorite slip of paper inside........."FREE PASS" no chore at all.

I chose this DP because it reminded me of carpet, baseboard and wall paper. I've had this paper sitting in my stash forever and think this made the perfect setting for this image. She was colored with my copics (E00, E01, E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, E42, E44, R01, R20, G21, G24) and highlighted with a Signo white gel pen. The ribbon is from SU , the flowers from Prima and I used the Martha Stewart branch punch to add some greenery (Garden Green - SU) to the flowers. For the letters, I used my very neglected QuicKutz. On the top, I used Bravo Burgundy (SU) and added a strip of this DP in the middle.

Now please check out the fantastic creations of the following DT members:
Dee, Mandy, Melissa and Jana .

Head on over to the store to get your images and be sure to check out the two new lines that were added to the shop ~ Twinkle Toes and Around Town. They were a surprise to us and are they CUTE!

Have a sweet day!

New Release from Modern Sugar Blvd.

Friday is another release day for Modern Sugar Blvd. and I can finally share one of my complete projects with you. This image is Party Gal ~ she's sassy and a lot of fun!

I love pink and black together, so when I found the Sabrina Collection from Making Memories I had to have it. I used that along with Basic Black cardstock from SU. I colored this with my copics (E00, E01, R20, RV11, RV13, C4, C6 and C8), and instead of doing my normal blonde or brown hair color, I decided to go with black hair to match the papers. I added Hodge Podge Hardware in Styled Silver and some black ribbon. The sentiment is from the SU set “Celebrate”.

Check out Jana’s blog to see more of Party Gal.

Sunday we will be releasing some more images, and you’ve seen a few of my sneak peeks for that as well, I can’t wait to show you the entire project!

If you haven’t had a chance to enter the Modern Sugar Blvd blog candy giveaway yet, make sure you head on over to the blog right away and get yourself entered ~ there are a lot of yummy things for the winner!

Have a sweet day :)

Modern Sugar Blvd is continuing it's week long celebration with a chance for you to win some yummy candy....look at all those goodies.....

So, we have 3 of the released digi stamps in the shop now, and tomorrow, there will be more coming your way.....check out the DT blogs of Georgia, Joni, Mary, Rachel, and Sharon for your peeks of what is to come.

Have a sweet day :)

Vintage Cherry Blossom...

The Digi Shack is offering a free Cherry Blossom digi stamp for a limited time and was holding a sketch challenge. You had to use the sketch below and the Cherry Blossom image had to be the focal point of your card. Below is the sketch and my card. The nice thing about Digi images is the fact that you can resize them, as you can see, I resized the image and made a border with it for the left side of my card. I am also entering this card in the Cute Card Thursday "Floral Fantasy" challenge. All you had to do this week is use any type of flower on your card. Well, since this card has lots of flowers it definitely fits the bill.

I am thinking of using this for a Mother's Day card this year. As much as I love my CM cutting system, on the thicker SU cardstock, it just doesn't seem to cut through as easily, and the ends end up looking uneven ~ which led to the distressing of the oval ~ which in turn took this card in a totally different direction than I had intended, but I really like how it turned out. I think I am going to have to invest in some oval nesties though for those nice clean cuts.....

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Cherry Blossom digi stamp - The Digi Shack; sentiment ~ All Holidays
Ink: Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Copics (YG06, YG07, YG09, RV000, RV00, RV02, E57, 0)
Paper: Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette; Gina K Pure Luxury White
Accessories: HodgePodge Hardward; Brad; Flowers (Prima); Cuttlebug Embossing folder; Vintage Lace trim; CM Cutting System

Here is a card I made for my daughter's friends birthday. Ashley told me I had to use Rockstar Anya and the color purple, so this is what I came up with......

Card Recipe~ all items SU unless indicated
Stamps: Rock Star Anya - The Greeting Farm; Riveting
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Perfect Plum; Copics (V93, V95, V99, Y11, Y13, E00, E11, R20)
Paper: Perfect Plum; Gina K Pure Luxury White; DP~ DCWV
Accessories: Border Punch (EK Success); Liquid Pearls ~ Lavendar Lace; Stickles ~ yellow; Brads (Making Memories); Flowers (Prima); Scallop and Circle Punches

Katharina is giving away 2 Whiff of Joy Summer Stamp kits. I know I would love to win these, since I don't have any of these stamps yet. Hurry on over to her blog and check it out as you have until May 1st, or on second thought, stay right here so I have a better chance of winning ;)

My Craft Space....

Well, I know I promised awhile back I would post pics of my craft space, and I haven't yet, so here it is. Please keep in mind that this is in my basement.......

Here is my work area:

The drawers and lower cabinets hold adhesives, embossing supplies, clear stamps, pictures, scrapbook albums, lace trims, a lot more ribbon, additional stamp pads, tags, some embellishments, dmc floss, etc.

The little cabinet to the left holds my sentiment stamps (mostly SU) and my Studio G stamps are on top the cabinet in SU boxes.

The white sterilite drawers hold embellishments, coloring tools (pencils, watercolor crayons, chalks, bic mark-its, prismacolor markers, etc), smaller alterable items (paper clips, slide mounts, coasters etc), border punches, punches that I ran out of room on the wall for and the smaller sized punches, CM cutting system, other tools.

Here is a a peek inside the upper cabinets.....

Ribbon, glitter, paints, ink refills and finished cards on the left side, DP and extra adhesives on the right side.

Here is another view down a little further.....The white cabinet in the middle is the one my husband made for me. Right now it stores my SU background stamps, SU roller stamps, Prima's, loose ribbon, buttons, Cuttlebug embossing folders, nesties, Bigz Dies, and my unmounted stamps from The Greeting Farm, CC Designs, MFT, Papertrey and Lizzie Anne.

On the counter top is my paper cutter, my Big Shot, Sizzix and a pencil sharpener. The drawers hold envelopes, more miscellaneous embellishments, my SU alphabet/number stamp sets, and Cardstock is in the bottom two drawers (pic below). The shelving on the side (pic below) stores some of the kids items, magazines, my Sidekick, Xyron, and tons of scrapbooking items. Notice the utility sink ~ it does come in handy when the kids are painting!

This is to the left of my work area ~ as I said I'm in the basement, so I get to share a room with the furnace....

The tall cabinet has pull out drawers and holds my SU stamp sets on the bottom section and alterable items on the top section. Behind the furnace is a little storage nook.

Here is the middle section. My husband made me this shelving unit awhile back for my stamps. This was prior to my becoming an SU demo, when I didn't have one single SU stamp. The three drawer unit on the table holds more of the kids stuff (and the mess under the table is stuff I am getting rid of). To the left there is another storage nook.

And here is the last wall... It holds my sizzix dies and some excess SU stamps. The bottom shelf holds more of the kids items. The little shelf with drawers my dad made back when he was in school. I have some altered items on it and jars of embellishments. You can see we also have a fridge in the craft room ~ all that is missing in here is a TV in here, but I'm not sure where I would put one.

I hope you enjoyed your little tour of my craft space.

Club Anya "Blog Hoppin' Bash!

This is my very first time participating in a blog hop and what better way to get my feet wet than to particiapte in the First Ever Club Anya Blog Hoppin' Bash. To see a list of all participants, please visit the Club Anya Blog.

When I saw The Greeting Farm Stamps I absolutely fell in love with their adorable images. Anya, Ian, the Fairies, the animals....they are all so cute, who could resist!?! I got my first order early this month, my second order on Monday, and, well, let's just say that with a brand new release tonight at 10:00 pm, my third order may not be far off ;)

For this card I picked Rockstar Anya. I stamped Anya onto Gina K Luxury White paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her in with my copics (E00, E11, R20, R81, R83, R85, R89, C1, C3) and then cut her out. To add some sparkle to Anya, I used silver glitter glue (Duncan) on her headband and guitar. I wanted it to look like Anya was on a stage, so I added two ovals (SU punch) before placing her on the polka dotted paper (layered with SU Basic Black and Pretty in Pink). Since I wanted this card to have a lot of bling, I used DCWV "All Dressed Up" papers, a Metal rimmed tag with a silver star brad, and even stamped the words (Sudio G) in Encore Metallic Silver ink. The finishing touch on this card is the leather trim with the silver eyelets (Walmart ~ and yes, it came with the eyelets already in it) .

Since I made an Anya Card, I also had to make one of Ian. I stamped Skater Ian on Gina K Luxury White paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him in with my copics (E00, R20, Y23, Y26, G82, G85, B32, B34, B39). I added a layer of Garden Green and Chocolate Chip (SU) to the back. For the card base I chose Really Rust (SU) layered with a fun patterned paper from DCWV. The sentiment is from SU's stamp set So Cool, which was stamped in Really Rust and layered on Chocolate Chip (SU). For embellishments, I chose to use stars (SU punches) cut from the same colors I used on the card. The large star has a vintage button with twine through it and I also added twine in place of ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and have fun hoppin' along.

Yay - It happened.....

I made it on the Modern Sugar Blvd Design Team ~ I am so excited! The store opens on April 20th, and in addition to digi images, they will be offering a line of clear and rubber stamps as well as "unique product lines... That not every other shop offers... And we'll also be carrying some great product lines that are exclusive to Modern Sugar Blvd". I can't wait to get started. Stay tuned for more information.....

Friday Sketchers Challenge

I have been coming across a lot of different challenge blogs lately, and have been trying to participate in some of them. This one is for Friday Sketchers. I really like this layout, and had a lot of fun with it. Now I just need to get some oval nesties becasue I sure would have liked the blue layer to be scalloped, oh well..... I used one of my brand new sets from The Greeting Farm, Rock the Farm. Isn't Anya just adorable? Check back here tomorrow night as I will be participating in Club Anya's first ever "Blog Hoppin' Bash". It starts at 7:00pm CST.

My Cute Stamps

My Cute Stamps is a site that I recently came across. The name fits them perfect because they have a lot of, well, really cute stamps. Their images are perfect for those kid cards and scrapbook pages. While browsing their site, I discovered they were also holding a DT call, so I applied and am waiting to hear if I made it or not. What an awesome birthday gift that would be.

In Celebration of Easter, Creating Cupcakes is giving away this adorable "Jelly Beans" stamp set ~ this is one of my favorites ~ I just LOVE that bunny (and the birdies too)! The drawing is being held on my birthday (April 15th), so maybe I'll get lucky! :)

Eeek a Monster is another one of my favorites. This set is absolutely perfect for those little boys and even those little girls. Wouldn't those monsters just look adorable paper pieced?!?

Seet Kawaii is another set I just had to mention. My kids LOVE sweets, so this set would be perfect to make them little notes to put in their lunch.

Happy Easter!

I just want to wish you all a Happy Easter before I go off to hide over 150 plastic eggs for the kids to find. At least the kids requested they be hidden in the house this year, so not only is it easier to hide them, it should also be easier to find them all.

Double Challenge Card

Here is another card combining two challenges into one. The first is for Daisy May Designs weekly challenge, which was to use Brown and Pink. I just came across this blog and they have the cutest little girl digi images! I discovered that they are also having a DT call, so I am using this card as my entry for that. I combined this with the Just Christmas & Birthday Cards weekly sketch challenge (another blog I recently came across).

Edited to add....Well, actually, this just became a Triple challenge card. I found another challenge blog, Cute Card Thursday, and their challenge was also a Pink and Brown card, so this fits the bill.

This was the first time I used my Miss Anya stamps from The Greeting Farm and I love these already. I used my copics to color her (E00, E11, E30, E31, E35, E37, G05, G07, RV00, Rv21, Rv23, O). The DSP is SU Berry Bliss (retired). I used an Imaginisce flower with a Daisy spacer and brad for the center. I love how the daisy spacers look behind brads, but I wish I could find some in a bit larger size.

I'm so excited!

I found out that I made the top 20 in the DT call for Modern Sugar Blvd and have moved on to stage 2. For stage 2, Candie sent us two images, and with those images, we needed to create one card and one "other" item (ie scrapbook page, candle, box....basically anything but a card). When I saw one of the images, I knew right away what I wanted to do for a project (and that made me very happy, since I thought the project would be the harder of the two to figure out), and am very pleased with how it turned out. Since these images are not available yet, I will share these sneak peeks with you. Please check back to see the complete projects.

Candie will announce the new DT on April 14th (the day before my birthday ~ what a nice birthday present that would be to see my name on the list). Wish me luck :)
