DCRU is having a get ready for CHA sale

Just a little enabling from me.  DCRU is having a fantastic Getting ready for CHA sale with items 40-50% off through Monday the 12th.  There are tons of bargains to be had.  I took advantage of these great prices and got a few things from my wish list.  They also have the new Basic Grey Oliver and Olivia paper pads which jumped in my cart as well (while they are not included in the CHA sale, they aren't available at too many places yet).  Happy shopping!  

ISS Color Challenge

Today it's time for our monthly color challenge at InStyle Stamps and here was our inspiration piece this month: 

Not your traditional Christmas colors and that's fine by me because I really like them!

Here is my card 

Today I am showcasing Ornamental Chloe.  I added polka dots to her dress and stripes to her scarf with a white gel pen and also added some polka dots to the ornament (although since it is covered in stickles they aren't that noticeable).  On the ribbon I added two bead caps with brads in the center.  This image will be available for purchase on the 16th.  Now remember, InStyle Stamps is releasing a ton of new images next week, so you might want to check out the blog each day.

Last week I also told you all that I finally started reading the Twilight Saga ~ well I finished all 4 books in a little over a week ~ I had to drag the last one out because I didn't want it to end!  Now I am ready to see the movies.

KLSNS Challenge #38

Today Ceal was the host for the weekly challenge over at KLSNS and her challenge to us was to use Dry Embossing.  I think practically everyone has at least one embossing folder in their arsenal, so this is really an easy challenge to take part in!   

Here is my card:

Yes, it is a Christmas card (and I can promise you it won't be the last one I post this month either).   I used this adorable Lily and Milo image from Stampavie along with some Basic Grey papers.  I added stickles to the edges of the flowers and some pearls to the snowflake centers on the punched edge.  For my embossing, I embossed the image and then added stickles to the embossed dots around Lily and Milo to represent snow ~ I just couldn't capture it good in the picture, but it is really pretty and sparkly in real life.

KLSNS Challenge #37

Today Risa was the host for the weekly challenge over at KLSNS and her challenge to us was to make a Summer themed card.  You can make a card that has a summer theme (beach, picnic, gardening etc) or use bright summer colors. 

And here is my card:

I went for a beach theme this week.  I used one of the adorable new Sweet November Stamps, Penelope and Shelly, from CC Designs.  I sponged the background panel to look like sand, water and sky.  I colored the images with copics and then added crystal effects to the turtle's shell.  I had this Designer Paper for awhile and thought it would look really cute with these stamps so I pulled it out and finally put it to use.  If you have any beach pictures to scrapbook, this is a great image for that ~ it is larger than I had thought it would be and is the perfect size for a scrapbook page!

ISS Sketch Challenge SC11

Today it's time for our monthly sketch challenge at InStyle Stamps and this is the sketch Taylor gave us to follow: 

Well, I just had to rotate it since I thought the image fit better this way and here is my card: 

Well, I finally started reading the Twilight Saga Tuesday night.  I finished Twilight on Wednesday and New Moon yesterday, but don't think I'll get too far on Eclipse today since it is Trev's birthday.  These books are really good, I just don't know why I didn't read them sooner?  Anyways, because of my recent choice in books, I decided on a Halloween theme and chose Witchy Chloe.  I love this adorable girl!  Notice the sparkly drippy goo border around the circle portion?  I love how you can use some of the border punches in this way.  I colored the image with copics and then colored a real pale yellow around it and did the same with the sentiment.  Instead of layering the image and sentiment, I just colored the border with a black marker.      

All this month we will be showcasing some wonderful new holiday images.  If you are anything like me, the sooner you start working on your Holiday cards the better....and even then, I still seem to rush at the last minute.  These images will be in the store by July 16th.

Tomorrow my little man is going to be 6 years old!  I am sharing the birthday card I made for him today so I can get it entered in a few challenges.

I LOVE how this one turned out!  I used one of the robots from the Tinheart collection at PaperWorks Co.  The image was colored in with copics and then I added crystal effects to his eyes and to the "screen" on his body.  I wanted to do something different so I went digging through a drawer in the garage and came up with some washers, lock washers and bolts and decided to use those.  Gonna have to do some more digging because I really like how these look ~ good thing I don't have to mail this because it is heavy!
