Elzybells - New Release
I love Elzybells stamps because they are just so darn cute. They have just come out with their fantastic new February releases that you should definitely go check out. I have a few favorites in this release and they are Just Deserts (the adorable girl and sweets ~ enough said) and Hey Cupcake (how can you not love cupcakes). I am also drawn to Eggstravaganza and Eggstravaganza sentiments ~ I think this would be a really fun set for the kids to use for Easter. What are your favorites?

Kindergarten Project - Valentine Box
I mentioned in one of my previous posts that we were working on a Valentine Box for Ashley. The box is now complete. We started out by painting the "tote", both inside and outside, with 2 coats of acrylic paint (Delta - Fuchsia). After that was dried, I applied the gorgeous Bo Bunny papers. The metallic trim was added and then the doily. I covered the chipboard letters (Making Memories) with more Bo Bunny papers and then added ribbon (SU - Celery and Light Pink) to each letter, and affixed with dimensionals. I added the two flowers (Bazzil -Bitty Blossoms) with the heart rhinestones and then affixed the teeny tiny dot stickers (Stampendous - Dot Sparkler) on the doily. Those were hard to work with as they kept sticking underneath my fingernails, but they do add a nice touch. I was going to add a thick decorative ribbon trim for a handle and make this into a real tote, but decided against it as I figured the girls could put this in their room, and it is more practical not being a tote. Although Ashley didn't do a lot of actual work on this, she did pick out what papers to use and where, the style of chipboard letters to use, the ribbon, the flowers, and the rhinestones.

Coco We Miss You!
On Friday, January 30th, 2009 we had to have our family pet, Coco put down. :( She was almost 14 years old, and unfortunately, was having a lot of problems. It was a very sad day for all of us. I miss coming home and having her here; laying in bed at night and hearing her little "foot" steps down the hall; hearing her tags hit the water bowl as she drinks; seeing her, and just petting her. Alicia was the hardest hit of all the kids, since she is the oldest and was the closest to her (she even has a pug Webkinz that she named Coco). I remember when Alicia was little and we were decorating the Christmas tree, she put a string of lights around Coco because she wanted her to be decorated too ~ it was so cute (I'd post that pic, but it was before I went digital).
Here is Coco in her favorite "bed". Tyler got this Spiderman couch for a gift, and used it for awhile (as did Trevor), but then outgrew it, and it became Coco's favorite resting spot.
Here is another of Coco's favorite resting spots ~ on the fireplace. (As she got older, she spent a lot of time sleeping)And here is Coco on her last day with us.
The vet called us today to let us know the paw print ornament they made for us is ready to be picked up. That will be a nice keepsake and at Christmas time will hang on our tree right next to the pug angel ornament we have.

Papertrey's "Bitty Dot" sketch challenge
Here is another Papertrey challenge card I completed ~ although I did change the orientation of the sketch from landscape to horizontal in order to fit the stamp I wanted to use. I LOVE this designer paper by Bo Bunny. I purchased a bunch of different Valentine themed paper by Bo Bunny for my daughter's Valentine Box that she needs for school (I will post that when it is done), and just had to use some for myself. I couldn't find any ribbon that I liked for this particular card, so I dug through my huge box of vintage lace and trims (that I picked up at an estate sale awhile back) and found this beautiful heart lace trim ~ perfect!

Papertrey's "Over The Rainbow" Challenge
I came across this challenge and decided to give it a try. Since I don't have any of Papertrey's Cardstock, I used SU cardstock in the following colors: Riding Hood Red, Apricot Appeal, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze. I don't think I would have chosen all of these colors together, but I do like the end result. I kept the card pretty simple, but did add some paper piercing to the Baja Breeze strip for interest.
