Soft Pencil Birthday Blog Hop

I am so happy that Elizabeth has asked me back as a Guest Designer and especially glad that it happens to be in May since Soft Pencil is one year old this month and I get to take part in their Birthday Celebration Blog Hop!  Now you can't have a Birthday without presents......so each of us have the image that we used on our project up for grabs!  You should have arrived here from Lisa's blog, but if not, please head back to the Soft Pencil blog to start the Birthday hop at the beginning.

For my card I used Lilly ~ I just love Elizabeth's darling girls, and Lilly is one of my favorites!  I colored her with copics, added some shimmerz to her flower and then cut her with a flower shaped nestie.  I drew a pink line to make a border and then added shimmerz to this outside border (as well as on the sentiment border) just to add some interest.  The shimmerz doesn't show up real well in this photo, but if you look at the peek at the beginning of the post you can see it on the flower.  I added some pearls to each of the scallops and then in the 4 corners as well as a pearl heart pin to the flower.

So, how would you like to win Lilly?  All you need to do is leave me a comment by Sunday, May 8th at 8:00PM EST.  All winners will be posted Monday on the Soft Pencil Blog.

Your next stop is Betty but be sure to leave a comment before you go!

A Special Mother's Day Bouquet for you

Our Daisy overnight trip was so much fun ~ the girls had an absolute blast swimming and having their nails done!  Hotel overnight trips I can handle, camping, not so much.  This was the first time I was away from any of my kids overnight, so it was a bit of an adjustment for both me and the three that had to stay home ~ thank goodness for cell phones!  Alicia wants me to plan an overnight like this for her troop, so there may be another one in the near future.....

I am one of the Guest Designers for this weeks challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles, which is to create a card that says "Spring" to you.  We were generously given a few images from Sew Many Cards and after going back and forth with a few of them, I finally decided on Owen with Flowers.

Isn't he so cute carrying a bouquet of freshly picked flowers for his mom ~ I love these bouquets the best :)

For this card I am entering the following challenges:
Truly Scrumptious - Sketch
Whimsical Wednesdays - Spring
AI Factory - Buttons
Delightful Sketches - Pull out your Punches
Hand Full of Stamps - "Look What I Got" - new items - image, Designer papers

KLSNS Challenge #28

Right now, I'm on an overnight trip with my Daisy Troop, so I sure hope Mr. Blogger plays nice and posts this on time for me.  This week the KLSNS challenge is to finish the inside of your card ~ I usually do this, but it ends up being done before I actually use the card rather than right away.
For my card I used this fantastic Sugared paper from Basic Grey and thought the Dragon Go Round image from High Hopes would work well with these colors.   I carried the design through to the inside but added two flowers put together with a stardust spacer bead and brad instead of ribbon as on the front.  The dragons spots and the horses mane, tail and hooves were colored over with a clear spica pen, but the above picture didn't capture it so well, so here is a close up of that:

Sorry for the quick post, but I'm off to a Spring Concert at school before I head off to the overnight outing.

We would love to have you join in our challenge this week and see what you come up with using these colors!  Stop on over at the KL Stamping N Scrappin blog for all the challenge details and to see some wonderful eye candy from the rest of the Design Team.

Enjoy your weekend :)

Happy Birthday Girl

Yay ~ I finally was able to post a picture on blogger after trying so many times ~ I hope it is all fixed now!

I was lucky and won this adorable stamp from Squiggle Stamps. Since my mail is a bit slow, and I haven't received it yet, Tracy was a sweet heart and sent me the digi image so I could enter the current challenge over at Squiggle Stamps ~ thanks again for that!

This is the sketch for their current challenge:

And here is what I came up with:
I have had this stack of papers for quite awhile, and while I really do like them, I never remember I have them ~ I guess it pays to go digging in your cabinets every once in awhile.  Unfortunately I still haven't come across my items that went missing some time back (and I ended up buying a new BG05 marker)...and now I can also add a bone folder, a pinking shears and an embossing stylus to the list ~ I swear a craft fairy comes and visits me, but instead of a good one that leaves me things I have a mean one that takes them away from me.....seriously though, I have no clue where the stuff is going, especially since it stays in my craft room, at one of my two work areas.  The image was colored with copics and I added some pearls (colored with R85) to the cupcake for some sprinkles.  I am loving those mini prima roses ~ so fun to use!

In addition to the Squiggle Stamps challenge, I am also entering the following:

Magical Crafts - "Something for the Girls"
One Stitch at a Time - Flowers
Paperworks - must have a cupcake somewhere
Pile It On - "Make It Sweet"
Stamp with Us - Birthday
Crafty Cardmakers - "Desert Island" - use items you would "NEED" to take on your island ~ copics, patterned papers, flowers, ribbon, cardstock, stamps, pearls, border punch, nesties ~ at least there wasn't a limit ;)
Crafty Angels - Summer - the colors remind me of summer
Sophisticat - Card for a Child
The Pink Elephant - Aqua
Hand Full of Stamps - "Use up that stock" of patterned papers - at least 2 different (I used 4)
Clearly Inspired - Ribbon
Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - Flowers
Fussy and Fancy - Birthday Card with a sweet treat on it
Stamp Scrap and Doodle - "Girlie"
Our Creative Corner - Blooming Blossoms

Maid for You

Here is a card I made with Darla from InStyle Stamps.  I kept this one pretty simple as I printed the image on the large side.  I decided to color her in "traditional" maid colors of black and white, but I just had to add a touch of pink in there.

Be sure to check back on Friday as we will be having the InStyle Stamps blog hop!
